Ch 36 (46)
If you would like your wig to be longer add more chs,
and if you want it shorter, add less chains.

Row 1 - 1 sl st in 2nd ch from the hook and in the next 4 chs,
1 sc in the next 30 (40)  chs,  ch 1, turn.  ( 5 sl st, 30, 40 sc,)

Row 2 - Working in the Blo, 1 sc in next 30 (40) sc,
1 sl st in the  5 sl st, ch 1, turn. (30, 40 sc, 5 sl st,)

The 5 sl st is the top of the hat, where we will gather closed when finished.

Row 3 - 5 sl st, Working in the BLO, 1 sc in the next 30 (40) sc,  , ch 1, turn.
 ( 30, 40 sc, 5 sl st)

If you want your bangs to be wider add more rows

Row 47( 53)  - 5 sl st, 1 sc in the next 15 (20)  sts,  ch 16(21), ch1, turn

Check to make sure the amount of chs line up to the other side of the wig,
or you will have an uneven wig, unless you want an un even wig,
which might look pretty cool.

Row 48(54) - Working in the Blo, 1 sc in chs and  sc,
1 sl st in the  5 sl st, ch 1, turn. (30, 40 sc, 5 sl st,)

Row 49(55)  - 5 sl st, Working in the BLO, 1 sc in the next 30 (40) sc,  , ch 1, turn.

Row 50(56)  - 1 sc in the next 30 (40)  chs,  5 sl st, ch 1, turn.  ( 5 sl st, 30, 40 sc)

Row 51(57)-76(85)  - Repeat Rows 50(55) and 51(56) alternating rows.

Check to make sure you are staying even with your sts and rows.

If you need more rows for width, you can add them here.

Line up the back of the wig, wrong side out, and sl st the back of the hat closed.
tie off and weave in your end.

With a 24 inch piece of matching yarn, thread onto the yarn needle,
Still working with the wrong side of the hat,
sew and gather closed the top of the hat.
Tie securely, so hat stays closed. Cut yarn and flip right side out.

Big Bows:
ch1 at end of rows does not count as a st.

R: 1 - ch 17(23), 1 hdc in 2nd ch from the hook, and in each ch across, ch 1 turn.
(17, 22 hdc)

R : 2 - 1 hdc in each hdc, ch 1 turn

R : 3- 4(6) - Repeat R 2,  2 times for child's bow and 4 times for adult bow.

Sc crochet around all 4 sides of bows evenly, join to first sc and tie off, weaving in ends.

Bow band - Ch 9(11) 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, and in each ch, ch1, turn
 ( 8(10 sc)

1 sc in each sc, tie off leaving about a 8 inch yarn tail.

Pinch up the center of  bow and place the bow band in place, sew closed the band with the yarn tail.

Place bow on top of hat and sew in place with matching thread.

 Funny Pooch Photo Bomb!
I had to post this next pic
 because it is so funny.
We were trying to take some
fun pictures and my pooches
wanted to be be involved in the fun.

It would appear the Maximo is
 "getting friendly" with me,
and Rosie is giving him "The look"!

We laughed so hard when
 we saw this picture.

I love having my creative daughter,
Elisabeth Spivey of
Calleigh's Clips and Crochet Creations,

Crochet Graph Patterns Collection

These are graph patterns that I designed.
I wanted to learn how to stitch a crochet graph pattern.
And these are what I came up with.

I really enjoyed designing these
 graph crochet patterns
 and hope you do do.
And I discovered it is really
 quite simple and fun.

The Love Stamp was actually one of the first graph
patterns I designed, so it is a little rough.
Then I did the Oklahoma and Colorado graphs.
And Of course the Dog Sweaters last.

I have used the graphs to make pillows,
blankets, jackets and  and all sorts of fun things.

Firecracker Shrug Free Crochet Pattern -

Please pop over to
and Add this to your favorites.

Instant Download PDF File for the
Fire Cracker Shrug is now available
for $1.50 in my Craftsy Shop

We will Start with the Body of the Shrug- a large rectangle
30 X 22 inches

Skill- Intermediate

Materials  - Hook -J
If you stitch tightly you may want to go up a hook size.
Yarn- 2 Skeins of I Love This yarn - Firecracker
By Hobby Lobby -This yarn has natural striping effect.
(scroll down-there is a pic of the yarn)

Stitches -
Chain   (ch)
Half Double Crochet ( hdc)
Double Crochet  (dc)

Note: Ch 1 at end of rows does not count as a st

Pattern:
Step 1 - The Body or rectangle of the Shrug
R : 1 - Ch 53, 1 hdc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch across, ch1 turn
(52 hd)

R : 2 - 1 hdc in each hdc, ch 1 turn, ( 52 hdc)

R : 3 - 1 dc in the 1st 2 sts, *ch1, sk the next st, 1 dc in the next st,* Repeat across till the last 2 sts, 1 dc in the last 2 sts, ch 1, turn.

R : 4 - 1 dc in the 1st 2 dc, 2 dc in the 1st ch1 space and in each ch1 space across, 1 dc in each of the last 2 dc, ch1, turn.

R : 5 -1 dc in the 1st 2 dc, 2 dc in between the next 2 dc , and in between the 2dc across, 1 dc in each of the last 2 dc, ch 1 turn

R : 6 - 1 hdc in the 1st 2 dc, *1 hdc in the space before the 1st 2 dc, 1 hdc in between the next 2 dc*, Repeat from * to * across, 1 hdc in each of the last 2 dc, ch 1 turn.

"Space" refers to the space between the sts.

R : 7 - 1 hdc in each st across, ch 1, turn ( 52 hdc)

Repeat R : 2-7, 9 times , cut off yarn and weave in your end.

Step 2-  the hem- Fold Rectangle in half, Starting at the  back left  of rectangle, attach yarn, stitch 1 hdc in each row across the back only, then stitch 1 hdc in row across the front, join to 1 st hdc, ch1

For more Clarification: When you fold it in half, There is a front and a back. You begin at the back and stitch across the back only, then keeping the yarn attached,   you stitch across the front. This makes the edge or trim of the shrug, and forms the arm holes at the ends.  If you look in the next picture you will see the edge of the shrug after the next few rows are crocheted.

Stitch 3 more rows of hdc around the bottom of the Shrug. Tie off and weave in your end.

Step 3 - The Sleeves.
Join yarn to the first armpit of the of the shrug, and hdc evenly around the arm opening,
be sure to st loosely so it doesn't pucker. join to the 1st hdc, ch 1.

Crochet 2 more rows of had around the sleeve.

Now Repeat Step 3 for the other arm.
And That is IT!
This is the perfect shrug
for wearing over a strapless or sleeveless dress.
With a t-shirt and jeans. It can be casual or elegant.
I designed this shrug, because I wanted it to go over
a new "little black dress" and I love it.
Here is the end of the skein close up!
And I am totally in love with this yarn.
It is Hobby Lobby's I love This yarn -Fire cracker.
It is black with bright yarn twisted together,
and has a natural striping effect.

A Cross For Momma's Bible

A Year Ago Today, My Precious Momma
moved from Earth, to her Heavenly home.
I  miss her so much, her voice, her laugh,
and her hugs and smiles.
Yesterday while dusting, I came across her Bible.
No one loved the Bible  more then my Momma.
It is all underlined and the margins are full of notes.
her hand writing is a little messy,
and looks a lot like mine.
I say her Bible,
But she had quite a few through the years,
She would read them until they fell apart,
then she would tuck them in a drawer
and get another one.

As I run my hand across the pages,
outlining the verses she marked, with my finger,
I close my eyes and listen, I can hear to her voice,
reading the some of her favorite passages out loud.

Psalm 37:4(KJV)

Delight thyself also in the Lord
and he shall give thee the
desires of thine heart."

She would Say,
" This Bible is God's love letter to his children."

I decided to make Cross Book mark to put
 in Momma's Bible.
This is were I got the pattern:
I used Cotton Yarn and a F hook
The pattern can be made
with any yarn or thread.

I Love that the pattern is worked in 1 piece,
working around the ends,
instead of adding each end.
Not so many ends to weave in.

I added the little pink rose,
as pink was her favorite color.

It made me feel better to read her
Bible and make
the bookmark to put in the Bible.

I'll See you when I get to heaven,
Momma,
and yours better be the first face I see."

I Love you.

How To Add A Lace Ruffle Yarn To A Tank Top

Isn't This Gorgeous.
It is really easy to to do.

Here is a Picture tutorial
on How I did it.

OH, It only took me about
 30 minutes to do!
Please,Add This Crochet Pattern to Your
Ravelry Favorites.
All you need To add a
Lace Ruffle to a tank top is:
A Tank Top
Lace Ruffle yarn
Worsted Weight yarn to match
A Crochet hook (H)
And a yarn needle
Step 1 : Thread the yarn on the needle,
and blanket stitch loosely around the neck of the T-shirt.
Each Stitch should be about a 1/2 inch.
If you don't know how to blanket stitch here is link to help you:
How to Blanket Stitch

Lay out your lace Ruffle yarn, so it is easier to work with.
You will be working on the side next to the hook.

Step 2: Adding the lace Ruffle Yarn.

If you want more ruffle, then add more loops on your hook,
if you want less ruffle then add less loops on your hook.

Some of the T-Shirts I have made, I have added less ruffles on the back of the shirt
and more ruffles on the front of the shirt.
When you reach the end, over lap your ruffle yarns and
tie off with a knot, making sure the knot if under the ruffle.
You can also sew a few stitches to make sure
your knot does not come undone.

It would also look really pretty to add a
row of ruffle on the hem of the T-shirt.

Just remember to place your Blanket Stitches loosely
so it will still have a little stretch.

Whale Tissue Box Cover By Moogly

The moment I saw this Crochet Pattern,
I knew I had to make
 one for my Guest Bathroom!
It is adorable, fun!
And Whimsical!

My upstairs guest Bathroom is
decorated in beige and light teals,
so I knew the yarn I chose,
would be perfect.

The yarn is Vanna's Choice -
Colors, Blue Lagoon
It has a slight striping effect and
has a really pretty sheen to it.
It took almost 2 full skeins to
make the whale. About 5ozs.

Now For the Pattern:
It is Written and Designed By
Moogly
and can be found here:
Don't you just love the name???

It is a easy to follow, well written pattern.
I made it in about 2 hours,
but I had a few interruptions
from a 22 month old grand daughter.
I didn't mind.
Here is mine close up.
I did made a crochet eye in place
 of the safety eye.
I was out of safety eyes.
It was really fin to make
and I think it adds just a touch of fun
and cuteness to my guest bathroom.
