Waves Of Jewel Throw Blanket Crochet Pattern

This is my comforter set for our bedroom.
My husband picked it out.
I think he did a great job,
 And I really like it.
But, it needed a pop of color.
I decided I needed a Blanket
To Throw on my bed,
for when I am reading or
crocheting in bed.
My Mother gave me this pillow
a few years ago, and I used it as
my inspiration for the Throw Blanket.

My Bedroom colors are Claret Red,
Brown and Beige
The Pattern is a basic Wave pattern,
using only 3 colors.

It measures approximately
48 X 72 inches,
of course you can add more
rows if you want it longer.
or more waves if you want it wider.

Please,
add this pattern to Your Favorites on

Yarn Stash Busting Leg Warmers Crochet Pattern!

I Love This Project!
I get to use up a lot of left over yarn and
make a great pair of leg warmers.
They are a perfect gift,
 but I am keeping mine!
Please, add this pattern to your
favorites on
Ravelry

Yarn Stash Busting Leg Warmers: Make 2 ( 1 for each leg)

Skill: Easy

Materials:
Hook -J
Measuring Tape
Yarn from your yarn stash ( any Worsted yarn will work
, but probably not cotton)

Stitches-
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (sl st)
V- Stitch ( v st)
Half Double Crochet ( hdc)
Single Crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Front Post Double Crochet (fpdc)

Getting Started:

First thing to do is measure around your ankle, then around your knee.
Then measure from ankle to knee for length.
Save these measurements-you will need them.

Note:This pattern based on measurements, not on st counts,
although I have added st cts, were needed.
And Because it is based off measurements, it will work for any size.

I have not added any striping or colors to the pattern
as this will depend on your yarn stash,
but as you can see, I changed colors every row.

Because you are changing colors often,
I found it easier to weave in the yarn ends as I went.

R : 1 - Forming the ankle band, Ch 9, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook,
1 sc in each ch across, ch 1 turn ( 8sc)

R : 2-Working in the back loops, 1 sc in each sc, ch 1 turn ( 8sc)

R : 3-28 - Repeat R : 2 , You will need to adjust the number of rows,
according to your ankle measurement,
I made mine loose to be able slip on easily.
3 rows of sc =1 inch, so if your ankle is 5 inches, you need 15 rows.

R : 29 - Place the two ends together and sl st the ends together, do not tie off.

R : 30 - Leg Section -Turn your work, sc  around the top of the ankle band,
stitching 1 sc in each row, join ch 1,

R : 31-34  - 1 hdc in each st around, join, ch 2

R : 35 - ( V stitch row)1 dc in the first st, *ch 1, skip the next st,
2 dc in the next st, Repeat from * around, 1 dc in the last st, join, ch 2

R : 36 - ( first increase row) 2 hdc in the 1st st, 1 hdc in the next 10 sts,
2 hdc in the next st, 1 hdc in the next 10 sts, 2 hdc in the next st,
1 hdc in the each of last sts, join, ch 2

R : 37-39 - 1 hdc in each st, join ch2

R : 40 - Repeat R : 35

R : 41 - (2nd increase row) 2 hdc in the 1st st, 1 hdc in the next 10 sts,
*2 hdc in the next st, 1 hdc in the next ten sts, repeat from * around row,
join ch 2

R : 42-44 - 1 hdc in each st, join, ch 2

R : 45 - Repeat R : 35

R :  46-49 - 1 hdc in each st, join, ch 2

R : 50 - Repeat R : 35

R : 51-64 - 1 hdc in each st, join, ch 2

(If you want a longer leg warmer, use your leg length measurement
to adjust the pattern by adding rows here.)

R : 64 - Forming the Knee band, 1 dc in each stitch around, join, ch 2

(Check your knee measurement, you may need to increase or decrease
some sts here to make sure the leg warmer stays in place.)

R : 65 - 1 dc in the 1st st, *1 fpdc in the next st,  1 dc in the next st,
Repeat From * Around knee band, join, ch 2

R : 66 -  1 dc in the 1st st, *1 bpdc in the next st,  1 dc in the next st,
Repeat From * Around knee band, join, ch 2

R : 67 - Repeat R : 65

R : 68 - Repeat R : 66

R : 69- 1 sc in each st, join, tie off.

Weave in all ends,
This picture is so funny.
It looks like Rosie Bell is sniffing my feet.
She is actually patiently waiting
so she can jump back into my lap.

Freebie Friday - Posh Pete The Elf Doll Crochet Pattern

Freebie Friday!
Posh Pete
Elf Doll Crochet Pattern
By Sara Sach

I designed this pattern last year.
I like the Elf on shelf idea,
but I found the Elf to be a little
creepy.
I wanted to make an elf, that was cute,
Sweet and fun,
and Big enough to play with.

This Doll is 23 inches tall, soft and lovable.
If you start him now,
he just might be ready for Christmas.

I have tried to show all the steps with good pictures,
But you will need to have a good imagination
and a little orneriness to make his
Christmas Magic come to life!

Please, add this pattern to your Favorites
