Today's Question - What is Yarn Ply?

Ply means layers, as in Bathroom tissue may

 be 2 or 3 play or layers.

 For Yarn is means strands spun or wound together

 to form the thickness of the yarn.

It used to be we totally relied on the ply for the

 thickness of the yarn, but not anymore.

Keep In mind a thick yarn can

 have less strands and a thinner yarn have more,

 because it depends on the

 thickness of the original strands.
