Once we finish the year we will have 12 fun cups to

use as magnets or appliques. This is just so much fun

already, I can hardly wait for the rest of them.

The 2025 Year Long Crochet

We are making a Home Wall Hanging and we are

also making an applique for each month to add to it.

The Applique is also a magnet that you can put on

your refrigerator. That way if you really do not want

to make the Wal hanging, You can still participate

by making the monthly applique / Magnets.

Crochet Pattern

Skill: Easy

Materials:
Crochet hook – H / 5 mm.
Yarn - Med (4) Acrylic Light blue 1 oz.
Small Amount of Yellow And Black
Yarn Needle
Felt Adhesive
Magnet
Glue of Choice – Hot Glue

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single Crochet (sc)
Chang to (chgto)
Skip (sk)

Size: 3.5 X 4 inches

Notes:
Ch1 Does not Count as a st

Pattern:

R: 1 – Ch 6, sc in the 2^nd ch and in each ch across, turn, ch 1 (5 sc)

R: 2 – 1 sc in each sc, turn, ch 1 (5sc)

R: 3 – 2 sc in the 1^st sc, 1 sc I the next 3 sc, 2 sc in the last sc,
Turn, ch 1 (7 sc)

R: 4 - 1 sc in each sc, turn, ch 1 (7sc)

R: 5 - 2 sc in the 1^st sc, 1 sc I the next 5 sc, 2 sc in the last sc,
Turn, ch 1 (9 sc)

R: 6 - 1 sc in each sc, turn, ch 1 (9sc)

R: 7 – R: 10 – Repeat R: 6

Trim:

Sc across the top of the cup, ch1,

Turn Working down the side of the cup, evenly sc down the side, ch1,
Across the, bottom, ch1, and up the other side of the cup,
Join to the 1^st sc, ch1

Cup Handle:
Turn back down the side, slst in the 1^st 3 sc, ch7, sk 5 sc,
Join to the next sc with a slst, 8 sc around the ch7,
Join to the next sc with a slst, tie off. Weave in the ends.

Sun Applique :
With yellow yarn, ch 5, join in a circle, ch1,
12 sc in the ch5 loop, join to the 1^st sc with a slst,
(12 sc)

*Ch5, slst in the 2^nd and 3rd ch, sc in the 4^th ch,
join to the next sc with a slst, Slst in the next sc*
Repeat from * to * 5 more times, join to the 1^st sc,
Tie off leaving a 12 in tail of yarn.
Use the beginning tail of yarn to close hole in the center of the sun needed.

Thread a 10 in strand of yarn onto the needle and embroider face
On the sun as shown in the picture.

Use the 12 in tail of yarn to sew the applique onto the cup.

Thread a 12 in strand of yellow yarn on the needle,
and whip stitch across the top of the cup.
