Coffee, Crochet and Bonbons Meet Up Group | Posh Pooch Designs

We have started a Meet Up Group called
Coffee and Crochet, I added the Bonbons!
People say I just sit at home
"Drinking coffee, crocheting and eating bonbons".
They were 2/3rd right.
We are meeting at this new Awesome
Location of Fika Coffee House.
It is a wonderful place.
Canterberry Parkway and Idyllwilde

Fika Coffee House to open in Idyllwilde

The Building is quaint and rustic.

This big Fireplace is so cozy,
it makes you feel
like your in a lodge in mountains
or a cabin in the woods.
I look forward to meeting here
when it gets cold outside,
so we can crochet in front of the fireplace.

The Coffee is amazing.
 The Staff is friendly.
The bathroom is clean.
And the Coffee is amazing. Oops,
did I say that already.

Our Coffee and Crochet Group
meets here on Thursdays
to talk about crochet, hooks, yarn,
our latest projects and life.
We step away from our "busy lives" for
a few minutes, relax, Sip coffee, and chat.

Some times we give gifts.
I made these fun coffee mugs.
I used color Sharpies.
Here is the Link for how to make them.
It is really easy and fun.

Then I put together gift bags
from some yarn from Red Heart
and other goodies.

I was given these beautiful
Mandala cloths from one of our groupies.
She Does Beautiful work!

We  love  our
"Coffee and Crochet Group".
If you are in the Area
Come join us Sometime.
Even if it is just for the Coffee,
it is amazing Coffee.
This is my new favorite coffee place.

An Exercise and Fitness Collection of Crochet Patterns | Posh Pooch Designs

Vacation is over,
Summer is winding down,
it is time to get back into an
exercise and fitness routine.
I went back to my Water/ Aqua Aerobics
class today. All the ladies were ooing and
awing saying I looked so good. I have lost 23 lbs
since May. I had not seen these ladies
in about 6 weeks. I have to say it really
felt good to have people start to notice that I am
losing weight. I still have a long way to go, but I
am taking it healthy, slow and steady.

How I am losing weight:
1. NO soda of any kind.
2. LOTS of water - 48 oz a day --not all at once,
spread out throughout the day
3. NO sugar, No sugar substitutes.
The only exception is 1 splenda or stevia in my morning coffee.
(Read your labels, there is sugar in lots of foods)
4. Eating mostly proteins, veggies, fruits and whole grains.
5. No frozen or processed foods,
All Fresh or I have frozen it myself.
Only real butter, and real foods.
6. I am not counting calories,
I am not keeping a food journal,
I do not have time for that.
Just trying to eat 6 small healthy meals a day.
7. Low Salt or no salt
( it is hidden in lots of food, again, check your labels)

My Next Goal is to get back to being Active.
I walk my dogs, I do water Aerobics, Yoga,
Ball work and light weights.
Oh, and my hubby bought me a Bowflex.(woo hoo)

Product Review - 4 in 1 Crochet Tool | Posh Pooch Designs

Today's Blog is a Product Review of
The 4 in 1 Crochet Tool by Boye
I have heard a lot of buzz about this new Crochet Tool,
But could not find one anywhere?

I was going crazy wanting to get my hands on one.
I do not go to Wal-mart very often, and decided to
give it a try after hearing they might have them.
(I am just not a fan of Wal-marts anymore,
story is to long to tell).
I found both the 4 in 1 Crochet Tools, the yarn
I needed and the measuring tape tape.
Happy Camper!
Now to try out those Crochet Tools.
So I really love the style, 4 different hooks on one tool.
It folds up like an army knife. I can take this on a plane,
in a car or anywhere I want to take my crochet bag,
which is everywhere!
I did have trouble locating where the hook size was indicated.
It is on the grey area where the hook folds in.
It is very tiny and difficult to read.
Tool 1 has D, F, H, J
and
 Tool 2 has E, G, I,,K
I wondered if the hook would stay put as I crocheted.
And it did. it stayed up and worked just fine.
And they have the Boye Style hook that I like best.
I worked up a new design for a Cowl, and as I crocheted,
the hook was great, but the handle was quite bulky.
I did find the tool to be little big for my hand.
I have short fingers.
I had to hold the end different then I am used to,
and it took some time getting used to it.
My thumb kept slipping into the indention,
which made it feel a little awkward,
but again I have short fingers.
I do not think I will use these for everyday use,
I Love my Clover hooks the best,
But these are a great tool for travel,
or just to have in your project bag.

It is a great tool to have around,
for travel and such, and I will definitely
put these in my travel and project bags.

The Cowl Crochet Pattern pictured above,
Can down be found at this link:

Please remember,
When I do a product review, it is my own opinion.
And I am not paid for my opinion.

Super Scrubbie Crochet Pattern and Red Heart Scrubby Yarn Review | Posh Pooch Designs

Super Scrubbie Free Crochet Pattern
2 Sizes
By Sara Sach of  Posh Pooch Designs

and
Red Heart Scrubby Yarn Review

When I first got this yarn, it was not at all what I thought it
would feel like. I was expecting the yarn to feel soft like
chenille  or maybe fun fur. But it is more of a rough
scratchy yarn, and perfect for Scrubbies!
Sparkle Scrubby, Yarn Bee Scrubology,
Scrubby Cotton, Scrubby Polyester

Then I played around with just the scrubby yarn,
but I thought it was too thin and did not hold it's shape.

Try #2, I used 1 strand of the Scrubbie yarn and 1 strand of cotton!
 It worked great!
You get the scrubby texture, the absorbency of the cotton and
I loved the way it laid and kept it's shape.
Crafters Cotton, Peaches and Creme,

Sugar and Cream,  Premier Cotton

6 X 6 Inches
And they go through the wash perfectly!
I designed this fun, useful Super Scrubbie.
I put the ring on the top so you can hang it on your faucet to dry.
Then I was asked if they could be made larger.
yes, then sure can and we adjusted to pattern For you

To include both a 6 X 6 Inches and a 8 X 8 inch size.

We retested, and up dated the pattern with lots of new picture, and added a brand new Video.

So Choose your yarns, Choose a size
and make a bunch of scrubbies.
