It makes a great last minute gift.

You will love the Simple Texture that makes it

And it works wonderful for both the girls and the guys.

I yarn I used is Yarn Bee Wildstreak,

Skill: Easy

Materials:
 Hook - I / 5.50 MM
Yarn Needle
Yarn -Med  (4) 3.5 oz. I used Red Heart Super Yarn

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (sl st)
Single Crochet (sc)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Back Loop only (BLO)

Size: For Child 19 - 20 inches
and (Adult) 22 -24 inches
4 sc rows = 1 inch , 4 sc = 1 inch

Note : Ch 1 at end of rows does not count as a st.
St counts are at the end of each row.

The colors and placement of stripes is totally up to you,
and not indicated in the pattern.

The Hat:

Ch 36 (46)
If you would like your wig to be longer add more chs,
and if you want it shorter, add less chains.

R: 1 - 1 sl st in 2nd ch from the hook and in the next 4 chs,
1 sc in the next 30 (40)  chs,  ch 1, turn.  (5 sl st, 30, 40 sc,)

R: 2 - Working in the Blo, 1 sc in next 30 (40) sc,
1 sl st in the  5 sl st, ch 1, turn. (30, 40 sc, 5 sl st,)

The 5 sl st is the top of the hat, where we will gather closed when finished.

R:3 - 5 sl st, Working in the BLO, 1 sc in the next 30 (40) sc,  , ch 1, turn.
 (30, 40 sc, 5 sl st)

R: 4 - 24 (28)  - Repeat R: 2 - R: 3,  alternating the rows,
(30, 40 sc, 5 sl st)

Bangs:
R: 25(29) - 5 sl st, 1 sc in the next 15 (20)  sts,  ch 1, turn.
 (5 sl st, 15, 20 sc,)

R: 26(30)  - Working in the Blo, 1 sc in next 15 (20) sc,
1 sl st in the 5 sl st, ch 1, turn. (15, 20 sc, 5 sl st)

R: 27(31) - 46(52) - Repeat R: 25 and R: 26 alternating rows.

If you want your bangs to be wider add more rows

R: 47( 53)  - 5 sl st, 1 sc in the next 15 (20)  sts,  ch 16(21), ch1, turn
(I changed colors on this row)

Check to make sure the amount of chs line up to the other side of the wig,
or you will have an uneven wig, unless you want an un even wig,
which might look pretty cool.

R: 48(54) - Working in the Blo, 1 sc in chs and  sc,
1 sl st in the  5 sl st, ch 1, turn. (30, 40 sc, 5 sl st,)

R: 49(55)  - 5 sl st, Working in the BLO, 1 sc in the next 30 (40) sc, ch 1, turn.
(30, 40 sc, 5 sl st) (changed back to purple on the row)

R: 50(56)  - 1 sc in the next 30 (40)  chs,  5 sl st, ch 1, turn.  (5 sl st, 30, 40 sc)

R: 51(57)-76(85)  - Repeat R: 50(55) and R: 51(56) alternating rows.

Check to make sure you are staying even with your sts and rows.

If you need more rows for width, you can add them here.

Line up the back of the wig, wrong side out, and sl st the back of the hat closed.
tie off and weave in your end.

With a 24 inch piece of matching yarn, thread onto the yarn needle,
Still working with the wrong side of the hat,
sew and gather closed the top of the hat.
Tie securely, so hat stays closed. Cut yarn and flip right side out.

Big Bows:
ch1 at end of rows does not count as a st.

R: 1 - Ch 17(23), 1 hdc in 2nd ch from the hook, and in each ch across, ch 1 turn.
(17, 22 hdc)

R: 2 - 1 hdc in each hdc, ch 1 turn

R: 3 - R: 4(6) - Repeat R: 2,  2 times for child's bow and 4 times for adult bow.

Sc crochet around all 4 sides of bows evenly, join to first sc and tie off, weaving in ends.

Bow Band - Ch 9(11) 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, and in each ch, ch1, turn
 (8,10 sc)

1 sc in each sc, tie off leaving about a 8 inch yarn tail.

Pinch up the center of  bow and place the bow band in place,
sew closed the band with the yarn tail.

Place bow on top of hat and sew in place with matching thread.
