Material -

Hook- H/ 5.00MM

Yarn - Worsted weight Yarn (4) - Red Heart Super Saver
Yarn Needle

Stitches and Terms -

Chain (ch)

Slip Stitch  (sl st)

Half Double Crochet  (hdc)

Double Crochet  (dc)

Size: 

The Pattern is designed for a Youth to Adult Size - 18-20 inch head

Gauge - 4 dc = 1 inch

Notes:
Ch3 Counts as a dc
Rounds are joined to the ch 3 with a slst

R: 1 - Ch 5, join in  circle, ch 3,  15 dc,

 join with a sl st. ( 16 dc)

R: 2 - Ch 4 (counts as 1st dc and ch1)  dc, ch1 in each st around,

 join. (16 dc, 16 ch1)

R: 3 - Sl st in the 1st ch1 space, ch 3( counts as 1st dc) 2 dc in the same space, ch1

*skip the next ch1 space, 3 dc in the next ch1 space, ch1*,

Repeat From * to * 6 more times, join (8 3dc, ch1 groups)

R: 4 - Ch 3, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in the next dc, 2 dc in the next dc, ch 2, 

*2 dc in the next dc, 1 dc in the next dc, 2 dc next dc, ch 2* , 

Repeat 6 more times, join.

 ( 8  5dc, ch2 groups)

R: 5  - Ch 3, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in the next 3dc, 2 dc in the next dc, ch 2, 

*2 dc in the next dc, 1 dc in the next 3dc, 2 dc next dc, ch 2* , 

Repeat 6 more times, join.

 (8  7dc, ch2 groups)

R: 6 - ch3, 1 dc in the next 6 dc, ch 2, * 1 dc in next 7 dc, ch 2*, 

Repeat From * to *  6 more times, join. (8  7 dc, ch2 groups)

R: 7 - Sl st in the 2nd dc, ch 3, 1 dc in the next 4 dc, ch 2,
1 dc in the next ch2 space, ch 2, *skip the 1st dc, 1 dc in the next 5 dc,
ch 2, 1 dc in the next ch2 space, ch2 *,
Repeat From * to * 6 more times, join. ( 8 5 dc groups)

R: 8 - Sl st in the 2nd dc, ch 3, 1 dc in the next 2 dc, ch 2,

 3 dc in the next dc, ch 2*skip the next dc, 1 dc in the next 3 dc,
ch 2, 3 dc in the next dc, ch 2*  Repeat from * to * 6 more times,

R: 11 - Ch3, 1 dc in each dc only, join, ch2
( skip all the ch2 spaces)(64 dc)

R: 12 - 1 dc in each dc, join ch 2 (64 dc)

R: 13  - 1 hdc in each dc, join, ch2 (64 hdc)

R: 14 - R: 15  -  1 hdc in each hdc, join, ch2 (64 hdc)

R: 16 - 1 hdc in each hdc, join, tie off and weave in your ends. (64 hdc)
