Fuzzy Top Colorado Flag Beanie

I am having so much fun with these

 great big fuzzy pom poms that I found at Hobby Lobby.

They are cheap, about $3.00 and come in lots of colors.

I was asked to make a 

Colorado Flag Beanie Crochet Pattern

 with Worsted weight yarn.

I was going to just make a regular pompom, 

but when I saw this great big white Fuzzy pom pom,

 I had to buy it for this project.

This hat is really easy to Stitch up.

I Put the Skill at "Easy to moderate" 

because of the Front post stitches

 on the hat band.

Materials:

Crochet Hook: I

Yarn: Worsted Weight (4)

3 oz. Blue – C1,

3 oz. White - C2

1 oz. Red – C3

1 oz.  Yellow – C4

Yarn Needle

1 big Fuzzy Pom Pom (I purchased mine at Hobby Lobby)

Stitches:

Chain (ch)

Single Crochet (sc)

Slip Stitch (sl st)

Double Crochet (dc)

Front Post Double Crochet (fpdc)

Change (chg)

Size: Child: 16-17 inches (S)

         Youth: 18-20 inches (M)

         Adult: 21-22 inches (L)

Notes:

Rounds are joined with a sl st.

Ch2 does not count as a stitch

Pattern:

Child: 16 - 17 inch head

R: 1 - With C1, ch 3, 10 dc in the 3rd chain from the hook,

 Join with a slst (10dc)

R: 2 - ch 2, 2 dc in each dc, join (20dc)

R: 3 - ch 2, *2 dc in the first st, 1 dc in the next dc*

Repeat From * to * around, join (30dc)

R: 4 - ch 2, *2 dc in the first st, 1 dc in each of the next 2 dcs*

Repeat From * to * around, join (40dc)

R: 5 - Chg to C2, leaving c1 attached

ch 2, *2 dc in the first st, 1 dc in each of the next 3 dcs*

Repeat from * to * 2 times.

1 dc in each remaining dc around, join (42dc)

R: 6 - ch 2, 1 dc in each dc around, join (42)

R: 7 - Repeat R: 6

R: 8 – Repeat R: 6

R: 9 – Chg to C1, Repeat R: 6

R: 10 - *1 dc in the 1^st dc, fpdc in the next dc*

Repeat From * to * around, join, ch2 (21dc + 21 fpdc = 42 sts)

R: 11 – Repeat R: 10

R: 12 – Repeat R: 10, tie off, weave in your ends.

Youth: 19 - 20 inch head

R: 1 - With C1, ch 3, 10 dc in the 3rd chain from the hook,

 Join with a slst (10dc)

R: 2 - ch 2, 2 dc in each dc, join (20dc)

R: 3 - ch 2, *2 dc in the first st, 1 dc in the next dc*

Repeat From * to * around, join (30dc)

R: 4 - ch 2, *2 dc in the first st, 1 dc in each of the next 2 dcs*

Repeat From * to * around, join (40dc)

R: 5: ch 2, *2 dc in the first st, 1 dc in each of the next 3 dcs*

Repeat From * to * around 10 times, join (50dc)

R: 6 – 1 dc in each dc
R: 7 - Chg to C2, ch 2, 1 dc in each dc around, join (50dc)

R: 8 – Repeat R: 6

R: 9 – Repeat R: 6

R: 10 – Repeat R: 6

R: 11 – Chg to C2, Repeat R: 6

R: 12- ch2, *1 dc in the 1^st dc, fpdc in the next dc*

Repeat From * to * around, join, ch2 (25dc + 25 fpdc = 50 sts)

R: 13 – Repeat R: 11

R: 14 – Repeat R: 11, tie off and weave in your ends.

Adult: 21-22 inch head

R: 1 - With C1, ch 3, 10 dc in the 3rd chain from the hook,

 Join with a slst (10dc)

R: 2 - ch 2, 2 dc in each dc, join (20dc)

R: 3 - ch 2, *2 dc in the first st, 1 dc in the next dc*

Repeat From * to * around, join (30dc)

R: 4 - ch 2, *2 dc in the first st, 1 dc in each of the next 2 dcs*

Repeat From * to * around, join (40dc)

R: 5: ch 2, *2 dc in the first st, 1 dc in each of the next 3 dcs*

Repeat From * to * around 10 times, join (50dc)
R: 6: ch 2, *2 dc in the first st, 1 dc in each of the next 4 dcs*

Repeat From * to * 10 times, join (60dc)

R: 7 – 1 dc in each dc, join, ch2
R: 8 –Chg to C2, ch 2, 1 dc in each dc around, join (60dc)
R: 9 – I dc in each dc, join (60dc)

R: 10 – Repeat R: 8

R: 11 – Repeat R: 8

R: 12 – Chg to C2, Repeat R: 8

R: 13 – ch2, *1 dc in the 1^st dc, fpdc in the next dc*

Repeat From * to * around, join, ch2 (30dc + 30 fpdc = 60 sts)

R: 14 – Repeat R: 13

R: 15 – Repeat R: 13, tie off and weave in your ends.

Colorado applique

With C3, Ch 5, 9 hdc in the 2nd ch from the hook,
join with a sl st,

(10hdc)

Change to C4, ch 3, 1 sc in the same st,
 2 sc in next 7 sc, ch1 turn

*1 sc in the 1^st sc, 2 sc in the next sc*
 Repeat From * to * 3 times,

 1 sc in the last sc, ch1, join to the 1^st sc

Weave in your ends.

Place on front of hat and sew into place
with matching yarn.
