Have you ever been working on a crochet
or knitting project,
and before you realized it, a few hours have passed?
And then you set the project aside, and
Your hands and wrists, and even your neck is stiff?
I know I have.
hands, wrists and your neck, that I use.
And they work great for me.
Disclaimer:
I am not a doctor, Chiropractor or
physical Therapist.
If you are on pain go to your Doctor!
I am just a crafter with stiffness.
I am just a crafter with stiffness.
I do not know if these moves
have actual names,
these are the names I have given them.
As with any exercise,
if it hurts, do not do it!
1. Finger Curls
Hold your hand up straight,
gently curl your finger forward.
Make sure you thumb stays flat against
your pointer finger.
Slowly curl and uncurl your fingers
about 6 to 8 times.
2. Fist Curls
Hold your hand up straight with your fingers closed in a fist,
with your thumb pressed gently against your pointer finger.
Slowly tilt your fist forward and backward about 6 to 8 times.
3. Thumb Stretches
Press your thumbs and fingers together.
Put gentle pressure on your thumbs and pointer fingers
and hold for a few seconds.
Concentrate on stretching and relaxing the thumb.
Repeat this about 6 to 8 times.
4. Finger Stretches
Place your thumb and fingers together.
Spread your fingers.
Put gentle press on thumbs and all fingers,
opening and closing your fingers.
Concentrate on each finger stretching
and relaxing the pressure.
Repeat This about 6 to 8 times.
5. Princess Wave
Hold your hand up flat, wave by turning your hand to the right,
then to the left, gently pulling as you wave.
Repeat This motion about 6 to 8 times.
The perfect move for loosening your wrist.
Lastly, lets talk about your neck
There are 2 simple moves I do.
1. Neck Tilts
Tilt Your head to the right, hold for 15 seconds,
Tilt your head to the left, hold for 15 seconds
Then Tilt to the back, and then to the front.
Holding each time for 15 seconds.
NEVER ROLL YOUR NECK!
2. Shoulder Raises
Gently lift your shoulders up,
and gently lower your shoulders down.
Do not drop your Shoulders.
Control your urge to drop your shoulders.
These simples moves can be a help
to all crafters.
If you crochet and knit,
but also for beaders, painters,
and anyone who works their hands.
And also for those who work on
their Computers.
