The Healing Wrap Shawl Crochet Pattern

It is a light and lacy shawl, stitched in a shell stitch pattern.
It measure about 60 inches long and 19 inches wide.
It is a Wonderful shawl for wearing day, evening or night.
It will add a touch of elegance to any outfit.
You can wrap it around your shoulder to wear as shawl,
or scrunch it up and wear it around your
neck like a super scarf.

It is designed with Lion Brands Shawl in Ball Yarn.
When I first started designing the shawl I
was not sure I would like this yarn,

but after I got a few rows in, I totally changed my
thoughts. It is the perfect yarn for this project.

Notes:
Ch3 at the beginning of round counts as a
Double Crochet.

R: 1 – Ch 50, 1 dc in the 4th ch
from the hook (counts as 1st dc)

R: 2 -1 dc in next dc, sk 2 dc,

Repeat From * to * across row,
1 dc in the last 2 dc, Turn, Ch 3 (2 dc, 14

R: 3 -1 dc in the next dc, ch1

In following this pattern, I come up with either too many shells, or, not enough. Am I doing something wrong?! I thought maybe I was reading the pattern wrong...but it is a simple one! I don't know what the problem is...
ReplyDeletePlease help- On Row 2 I come up with 15 shells, not 14 as pattern notes. Have ripped out twice and I’m about to give up on this pattern. Should it be 15 shells, not 14 in pattern?
ReplyDeleteI also have followed the pattern to the letter and have 15 shells. I just went with the 15 shells. I also have opted for the straight edge for the ending,
