Yarn: Bulky (5) 8 oz. (I used Red Heart Strata in several
different
colors I had on hand)

Slip Stitch (slst)
Double Crochet (dc)
Space (sp)
Skip (sk)
Size: Youth
to Adult - Fits a 19-20 inch head
You can Adjust the size by going up or down in your hook size.

Pattern Notes:
Ch3 counts as a Double Crochet
Rounds are joined with a Slip Stitch in the ch3
The Striping is up to you, but make sure you ch3 after the color change.

R: 1 – Ch 5, Join in a circle, ch3, 9 dc in the circle,
join with a sl st to the 1st dc, Ch 3. (10dc)
R: 2 - 1 dc in same st as ch3, 2 dc in each sc around, join, ch4

R: 6 – 1 dc in the next dc, 1 dc in the next ch 1 sp,
1 dc in each dc, and 1 dc in each ch 1 sp around, join, ch 3 (60

R: 7 – 1 dc in each dc, join, ch 4 (60dc)
R: 8 –Ch 4 Counts as dc, ch1,
*sk the next dc, dc in the next dc, ch1*
Repeat from * to * around, join, ch 4

R: 9 – *Dc in the next dc, ch1*
Repeat Around, join, ch 4

R: 10 – Repeat R: 9, but only ch 3
R: 11 – *1 dc in the next dc, 1 dc in the next ch1 sp*

R: 12 – 1 dc in each dc around, join, ch 3

R: 13 – 1 dc in the same st as the ch3,
*1 dc in the next 2 dc, 2 dc in the next dc*

R: 14 – 1 dc in each dc, join, ch3

R: 15 – Repeat R: 14, only ch1
R: 16 – slst in each dc around, join, tie off weave in your ends.
Bow:
Ch 25 cut and tie each end.
Tie in a bow and attach to hat front.

Strata Yarn (5)
You can also Substitute 2 strands of WW(4) or
2 strands of Cotton yarn.
Both will make nice Beach hats.
