The Comfort And Joy Wrap Shawl
 Crochet Pattern

This Shawl is elegant, light and drapes nicely.
It's the perfect touch for a Holiday,  
or New Years Eve Party.

And just what you need for the evening out.
Toss it over your shoulders to dress up a fancy outfit,
 or a casual T shirt.

This yarn is amazingly soft and shimmery.
It is By By Hobium Yarns and is called 
Matryoshka Lux (Kartopu which means Snowball)
It is a combination of Acrylic/ Wool,
 with a metallic thread running through it.

This is 
 a relatively
 easy pattern,
 and
 will work with
 any DK / WW(2) yarn.
(Sport Weight)

Skill: Easy

Materials:
Crochet Hook – H / 5.00MM
Yarn – Light Worsted / DK (2) Sport Weight - 10 Oz.
            I used Matryoshka Lux (Kartopu which means Snowball)
            By Hobium Yarns
Yarn Needle

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (sl st)
Double crochet (dc)
Skip (sk)
Space (sp)

Special Stitches:
V Stitch (V st) dc, ch1, dc in the same stitch
Shell Stitch (sh st) 2dc, ch1, 2dc in the same stitch

Size: 22 inches long X 67 inches wide
1 Row = 1 inch length
Repeat - 3 + 9 Width

Notes: Ch 3 counts as a Double Crochet

Pattern:
R: 1 – Ch 75, (loosely)
V st in the 6th ch from the hook,
(1st 5 chs count as a dc, sk2) sk the next 2 chs,
*V st in the next ch, sk 2 chs*
Repeat From * to * across ch, dc in the last ch,
 Turn, Ch 3.
(23 V sts)

R: 2 - *shell st in the ch1 sp of the next V st*
Repeat From * to * across row, 1 dc in the last dc,
Turn, Ch 3.
(23 Sh sts)

R: 3 - *V st in the ch1 sp of the next Sh st*
Repeat From * to * across row, 1 dc in the last dc,
Turn, Ch 3.
(23 V sts)


R: 4 - *shell st in the ch1 sp of the next V st*
Repeat From * to * across row, 1 dc in the last dc,
Turn, Ch 3.
(23 Sh sts)

R: 5 - R: 66 - Repeat R: 3 and R: 4 Alternating Rows

Add more rows to make your Wrap Shawl Longer.
Make sure you end on the Sh st Row.

R: 67 - *V st in the ch1 sp of the next Sh st*
Repeat From * to * across row, 1 dc in the last dc,
Turn, Ch 3.

Trim: Turn working the bottom edge of the Shawl Wrap –
You will be stitching in the sides of the rows, around” the dc sts.
Sh st in the side of the 1st dc, sk the next dc,
*sh st in side of the next dc, sk the next dc*

Repeat From *to* across edge of wrap. join to the corner with a sl st, 
Tie off and weave in your ends.

And Now you have a lovely, warm and light Wrap Shawl
to wear for any occasion.

  1. I love this shawl/wrap. I want to make it to take to Israel next summer, but would like it a little longer thatn 22". How many more chains ( or what count) should I do to increase the length? Thank you!!!
