The Valentine Dog Bandanna is a Combination of 

Single Crochet and Cross Stitch, and the effect is adorable.

We are going to Crochet a basic Single crochet Bandanna,

And then Cross Stitch a heart on it.

I really Love how it turned out and will be using this

 technique on many other projects.

Skill: Easy

Materials:

Crochet Hook – H / 5.00MM

Yarn – Worsted Weight (4) about an oz. Main color, Small amount of C2

Yarn Needle

Stitches:

Chain (ch)

Slip Stitch (slst)

Single crochet (sc)

Size: 9 to 14 inch dog neck
6 X 7 triangle

Notes:

Ch at beginning of rows does not count as a sc.

Ch 1 is a turning ch.

R: 1 – Ch 2, 3 sc in the 2^nd ch from the hook, turn, ch1. (3sc)

R: 2 – 1 sc in each sc, turn, ch1. (3sc)

R: 3 – 2sc in the 1^st sc, 1 sc in the next sc, 2 sc in the last sc, turn, ch1 (5sc)

R: 4 – 1 sc in each sc, turn, ch1. (5sc)

R: 5 - 2sc in the 1^st sc, 1 sc in the next 3 sc, 2 sc in the last sc, turn, ch1 (7sc)

R: 6 - 1 sc in each sc, turn, ch1. (7sc)

R: 7 - 2sc in the 1^st sc, 1 sc in the next 5 sc, 2 sc in the last sc, turn, ch1 (9sc)

R: 8 - 1 sc in each sc, turn, ch1. (9sc)

R: 9 - 2sc in the 1^st sc, 1 sc in the next 7 sc, 2 sc in the last sc, turn, ch1 (11sc)

R: 10 - 1 sc in each sc, turn, ch1. (11sc)

R: 11 - 2sc in the 1^st sc, 1 sc in the next 9 sc, 2 sc in the last sc, turn, ch1 (13sc)

R: 12 - 1 sc in each sc, turn, ch1. (13sc)

R: 13 - 2sc in the 1^st sc, 1 sc in the next 11 sc, 2 sc in the last sc, turn, ch1 (15sc)

R: 14 - 1 sc in each sc, turn, ch1. (15sc)

R: 15 – Working down the side of the bandanna, ch 2, slst in the side of the 1^st rows,

*Ch2, sl st in the side of the next row*

Repeat from * to* around the edge of the bandanna.

R: 16 – 1 sc in each sc across top of bandanna, (15 sc)

R: 17 - Ch 25, sc in the 2^nd ch from the hook and in each sc across ch, 1 sc in each sc across top of bandanna,

Ch25, sc in the 2^nd ch from the hook, and in each ch across ch, join to bandanna and tie off.

Weave in your ends.

Cross Stitch heart:

1 X = 1 sc

Use the graph to Stitch the cross stitch heart onto the bandanna.

Start at the bottom of the graph and work up.

Feel Free to copy, paste and print this graph.

Place your first X in the center sc st of R: 7
Then work up stitching your X's as shown in the graph.

I heard the kitties like my bandannas, too.
