Acorn Hot Pad and Wash Cloth Crochet Pattern

This Cute Acorn is  perfect Fall Decorating.
Place them in your bathrooms for guests to use as washcloth.

Use them in the kitchen for hot pads, 
or place them on your table for pot holders.


Once you see how easy they are to make,

Acorn Washcloth and Pot Holder Crochet Pattern

Skill: Easy

Materials:
Crochet hook- H/ 5.00 MM
Yarn- Cotton or Acrylic- Which ever you prefer Med (4) Beige - C1, Brown – C2
Yarn Needle

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Single crochet (sc)
Half Double crochet (hdc)
Double crochet (dc)
Front Loops only (FLO)
Back Loop Only (BLO)

Size: 8 X 8 Inches

Notes:
Ch3 Counts as dc
Ch1 Does Not Count as a stitch
When changing colors ch1 after the color change

Pattern:
R: 1 - With C1, Ch 18, dc in the 4th ch from the hook, 
1 dc in the each ch across, turn, ch3 (16 dc)

R: 2 – 1 dc in the same st as the ch3, 1 dc in next 14 dc, 
2 dc in the last dc, turn, ch 3 (18 dc)

R: 3 - 1 dc in the same st as the ch3, 1 dc in next 16 dc,
 2 dc in the last dc, turn, ch 3 (20 dc)

R: 4 - 1 dc in the same st as the ch3, 1 dc in next 18 dc, 
2 dc in the last dc, turn, ch 3 (22 dc)

R: 5 – 1 dc in each dc, turn, ch 3 (22dc)

R: 6 – 1 dc in each dc, turn.  (22dc)

R: 7 – Chgto C2, ch1, FLO 1 sc in each dc across, turn, ch3 (22sc)

R: 8 –BLO of R: 6, 1 dc in each dc, turn, ch 3 (22dc)

R: 9 – 1 dc in the same st as the ch3, 1 dc in the next 20 dc,
 2 dc in the last dc, turn, ch 3 (24dc)

R: 10 – 1 dc in each dc, turn, ch 3 (24dc)

R: 11 – 1 dc in each dc, turn, ch 1 (24dc)

R: 12 – 1 sc in the next 6 dc, 1hdc in the next 3 dc, 1dc in the next 2dc,
 2dc in the next  dc, ch1, 2 dc in the next dc, 1 dc in the next 2 dc, 1hdc in the next 3dc, 
1 sc in the next 6 sc, Turn, ch1.
 (6sc, 3hdc, 4dc, ch1, 4dc, 3hdc, 6 dc= 26 sts)

R: 13 – Sc evenly across the top to the ch1 in the center,
Ch 8, sc in the same ch1 sp,  sc across the top,


next evenly sc down the side of the acorn,

1 sc in the next 6 dc, 1 hdc in the next dc, 2 dc in the next dc, ch1, 2 dc in the next dc,
1 hdc in the next dc, 1 sc in the next 6 dc,



Continue to sc up the 2nd side of the acorn,
join to the 1st sc with a slst, tie off. Weave in your ends.
