Striped Sports Team Dog Sweater Crochet Pattern
and release it just in time For
The BIG GAME THIS SUNDAY!
It's super easy, stitches up fast
and adjusts for any size dog or pet.
And of course, you can choose whatever colors you like.

Skill: Super Easy
Materials:
Crochet Hook – H / 5.00 MM
Yarn: Med (4) Acrylic -about 3.5 to 5 oz. depending on size.
3 Colors of Your choosing
- Main color (MC) Color 1 (C1) Color 2 (C2)
I used Red Heart supersaver
and I Love This Yarn / Hobby Lobby.
Tape Measure: To measure your dog.
Yarn Needle
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (sl st)
Single Crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Change to (chgto)
Sizes and Getting Started
Sizes are approximates
Pattern is written for Medium with the
other sizes in Parenthesis M(S, XS, XXS)
M: 11-15 lb. Dogs
S: 8-10 lb. dogs
XS: 6-8, XS: 4 -5 lb. dogs
XXS: 2-3 lb. dogs)
Easy to Adjust to any size Dog – 2 chs
= about 3 inches
The First thing you need to do is
measure your dog, according to the picture.
By using these measurements you can
make adjustments to the sweater so it
fits your dog comfortably.
Measure Neck - Around
Measure Chest – Widest part around
Length – neck to where the tail the
begins
You can
adjust the Pattern as needed for Your dog’s measurements
Notes:
Ch3 counts as double Crochet.
Ch3 after the color change, when
changing colors for Stripes.
This Crochet Pattern is based more on
your dog’s measurements not Stitch counts.
I have added the color changes, but you can stripe your sweater how every you would like,
with as many colors as you would like.
Pattern:
R: 1 – Starting with the Belly band, With MC
Ch 54 (50, 44, 40)
Join in a circle, with a sl st, being careful
not to twist chain, ch 3
R: 2 - 1 dc in each dc, join
R: 3 - Repeat R: 2
R: 4 – Chgto C2, ch 2, 1 dc in each dc,
join, ch 3
R: 5 - Repeat R: 2
R: 6 – Chgto C3, dc in each dc, join,
ch 3
R: 7 - Repeat R: 2
R: 8 – Chgto MC, dc in each dc, join,
ch3
R: 9 - Repeat R: 2
R: 10 - Forming the back of the sweater, 1 dc in the next 27(25, 22,
20) dc, ch 3, Turn
If you
added extra chs for the width, you will need to that same amount here,
You will also need to measure the length of your dog and
determine how long you want the sweater. Add in or subtract the extra rows
here.
R: 11 - 1 dc in each dc, ch 3, turn
R: 12 – R: 15 - Repeat R: 11
Remember again to adjust your count for width.
R: 16 - Chgto C2, ch 3,
1 dc in each dc,
R: 17 - Chngto C3, ch 3,
1 dc in each dc
R: 18 - Forming the Neckband, Chgto MC, ch 3, 1
dc in each dc,
Then ch 14(12, 10, 8) and attach to the other side
of the back of sweater,
to form a loop for the neck band, ch 3
You will need to measure your dog’s neck and adjust the
amount of chain for a comfortable fit.
R: 19 - 1 dc in each dc and ch around neck
band, join, Ch 3
R: 20 - Repeat R: 19, tie off and weave
in all the ends from all the color changes.
This Sweater is Stripped differently.
This is the Shape Your Sweater Will be at This point.
Under Side Trim:
Attach main color to the underneath
side of the neckband, and sc evenly all around
the inside of the sweater, down each side and
across the top of the belly band
joining back to the underneath side of the
neck band, join and tie off.
Pom Pom:
To make the pom pom, wrap all three color
yarns around your 3 middle finger
and wind yarn about 35 times, Cut a
long piece of matching yarn,
and slip it into the center lop of the
yarns and tie tightly.
Cut the loops and trim evenly, then
attach to the back of the Sweater.
