And perfect For Parties and decorations.
PLEASE NOTE:
If you are going to use this as a
Hot Pat or Pot Holder use cotton or
cotton blend yarns. Acrylic yarns can melt and burn,
and burn you or your kids.
If you are going to use it as a decoration,
than Acrylic yarn is fine.

Cotton C1- Orange, C2- Purple, C3- Green
Yarn Needle

Double Crochet (BLDC)
Front Loop
Only (FLO)
Back Loop

Change to
(chgto)
Double
crochet together (dctog)
Size: 7 X 8 Inches
Notes:
Ch 3 Counts
as a dc
When
changing Colors ch1/ ch3 after the color change.
Pattern:
R: 1 – With C1,
Ch 18, 1 dc in the 4th ch from the hook, 1 dc in each ch across,
Turn, ch 3
(16 dc)
R: 2 – Dc in
the 1st dc, 1 dc in next 14 dc, 2 dc in the last dc,
Turn, ch 3 (18
dc)
R: 3 - Dc in
the 1st dc, 1 dc in next 16 dc, 2 dc in the last dc,
Turn, ch 3 (20
dc)
R: 4 – 1 dc
in each dc across, turn, ch 3 (20dc)
R: 5 – 1 dc
in each dc across, (20dc)
R: 6 – Chgto
C2, (leaving C1 still attached)
ch1, working
in the BLO, 1 sc in each dc across, (20sc)
R: 7 – Chgto
C3, (tie off C2, but still leave C1 attached)
ch3, Working in the BLO, 1 dc in each dc
across, Ch3 (20dc)
R: 8 – 1 dc
in the next dc, *BPDC in the next dc, 1 dc in the next 2 dc*
Repeat From
* to * 5 more times, turn, ch 3. (6 BPDC, 14 dc dc = 20 sts)
R: 9 -1 dc
in the next dc, *FPDC in the next dc, 1 dc n the next 2 dc*
Repeat From
* to * 5 more times, turn, ch 3. (6 FPDC, 14 dc dc = 20 sts)
R: 10 – Repeat
R: 8
R: 11- Repeat
R: 9, ch1
R: 12 – Dctog the 1st 2 dc, *BPDC in the next st, 1 dc in the next 2 sts*
Repeat From
* to * 4 More times, FPDC in the next st, dctog the last 2 sts,
Turn, ch 1 (6 BPDC, 12 dc = 18 sts)
R: 13 - dctog
the 1st 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 2 sts,
*FPDC in the next st, 1 dc in the next 2 sts**
Repeat From
* to * 3 More times, dctog the last 2 sts,
Turn, ch 1 tie
off C3 (4 FPDC, 12 dc = 16 sts)
Trim:
R: 14 – At
R: 5 Were we left C1 Attached, sc evenly down the side, across the bottom
and up the other side at R: 5, chgto C3, tie
off C1,
Evenly sc up
the side and around the top of the cactus to R: 5,
If You want a hanging loop, when you reach the center
of the top of the cactus, ch12, join to the same sc, than continue to evenly sc,
join to 1st sc,
If You want a hanging loop, when you reach the center
of the top of the cactus, ch12, join to the same sc, than continue to evenly sc,
join to 1st sc,
Tie off and
weave in all the ends.
Cactus Flower:
R: 15 – With
C2, ch 3, 8 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, join, ch 2
R: 16 – *3 dc
in the next sc, ch2, slst in the next sc, ch2*
Repeat From
* to * 3 More times, join, tie off leaving a 8 to 10 inch tail for sewing on
cactus.
Make sure to
close the center of the flower if a hole formed.
Place and
Sew in place on the cactus.
