Baby Scratch Mittens Crochet Pattern

The Baby Scratch Mittens are designed to keep baby from
Scratching their face and body.
Those precious little fingernails are sharp.
These little mittens will look sweet and keep baby safe
from scratches.

The Mittens are designed to fit a Newborn to 3 Months.
Keep in mind all newborns are different in size
and yarn is stretchy.
If a smaller or larger mitten is needed you can go up or
down in your hook sizes to get a nice fit.
Skill: Easy
Materials:
Crochet hook
– H/ 5.00 MM
Yarn – Med (4)
Acrylic – I used Caron baby Cakes (about an oz. will get you 2 mittens)
Yarn Needle
Stitch marker
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Single Crochet
(sc)
Half Double
Crochet (hdc)
Front Post
Double Crochet (fpdc)
Size:
Newborn- 3
month
4.5 tall X
4.5 around inches
To make the mitt;s smaller go down a hook size.
To make the mitts Larger go up a hook size.
To make the mitt;s smaller go down a hook size.

Notes:
The Mitten
is stitched in round, no joining until you reach the cuff.
Ch 2 counts
as a hdc
Pattern:
R: 1 – Ch 3,
10 sc in the 2nd ch ch from the hook. (10 sc)
Use Your Stitch Marker to make each row.

R: 2 – 2 sc
in each sc. (20 sc)
R: 3 – 1 sc
in each sc. (20 sc)
R: 4 – 12 –
Repeat R: 3
R: 13 – slst
in the 1st sc, ch 2, 1 hdc in each sc,
and the
slst, join to the ch 1 (20 hdc)
R: 14 – Sc in
the 1st hdc, fpdc in the next hdc,
*sc in the
next hdc, fpdc in the hdc*
Repeat From
* to * Around, join, ch 1 (20 sts)
R: 15 –*Sc in
the next sc, fpdc in the fpdc*
Repeat From
* To * Around, join to the sc, and tie off (20 sts)
Tie –
Ch 30,
tie off, knot and trim both ends.
Attach to front of mitten and tie a bow.
