A Ponchette is the same as a Poncho,

only shorter.

The Sunshine Ponchette is Designed

using Ice Cream Cotton Blend Yarn by Lion Brand Yarns.

It is a med (4) yarn and perfect for Spring Ponchette.

And is  lovely when worn over a tank top, Sundress,

and Bathing suit.

The original Ponchette Crochet Pattern Was Called

 The Cobble Stone Ponchette.The yarn used is no longer Available.

When I Saw The Cotton Blend Ice Cream yarn I knew it 

was the perfect yarn to Up date the pattern.

And I really love how the bright and cheerful yellow

 makes this a wonderful Spring Ponchette.

Materials:
 Hook - J / 6.00
Yarn - Med (4) Ice Cream Cotton Blend / Lemon By Lion Brand
Yarn Needle
 
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Double Crochet (dc)
Skip (sk)

Special Stitch - 

Shell Stitch (shst) 2dc, ch2, 2dc in the same st

Size: 1 Size Fits Most
The neck drape is approximately 37 inches around

Multiples - 6 chs (= 3 inches)

1 Row = 1 inch

Notes:

Ch 3 Counts as dc

Ch4 Counts as dc, ch1

Ch5 Counts as dc, ch2

Ch6 Counts as dc, ch3

Ch7 Counts as dc, ch4

Rounds are joined with a slst
 
Pattern :
R: 1 - Ch 114, join in a circle. be careful not to twist the ch.

ch 5( counts as 1 dc, ch 2), sk 2 chs,
*2dc, ch 2, 2dc in the next ch,(shell st)  sk 2 chs, ch1,
1 dc in the next ch, skip 2 chs, ch1*
 

(19 shells, 19 dc - This will remain the same throughout the project-
The increase is made by adding more chs between the shells, and dc)
 
Repeat from * to * around, join to the 3rd ch of the ch 4.
 

R: 2 - Ch 5 ( counts as 1 dc, ch 2)
*2dc, ch 2,dc in the center of the next shell st, ch 2,
1 dc in next dc, ch2 *
 Repeat from * to * around, join to the 3rd ch of the ch 5.
 

R: 3 - R: 4  - Repeat R: 2
 

R: 5 - Ch 6 (counts as 1 dc, ch 3)
*2dc, Ch 2, dc in the center of the next shell st, ch 3,
1 dc in next dc, ch3 *
 Repeat from * to * around, join to the 3rd ch of the ch 6.

R: 6 - R: 7 - Repeat R: 5
 

R: 8 - Ch 7 (counts as 1 dc, ch 4)
*2dc, ch 2, dc in the center of the next shell st, ch 4,
1 dc in next dc, ch4 *
 Repeat from * to * around, join to the 3rd ch of the ch 7.

R: 9 - R: 10  - Repeat R: 8
 
R: 11 - Ch 8 ( counts as 1 dc, ch 5)
*2dc, ch 2,dc in the center of the next shell st, ch 5,
1 dc in next dc, ch5 *
 Repeat from * to * around, join to the 3rd ch of the ch 8.

R: 12 - Repeat R: 11
 

If you would like your ponchette longer,
Continue to Repeat R: 11 until desired length.
