The Scrap Happy Granny Square Hot Pad 
Is  The April Scrap Happy Crochet Pattern 
For our Year Long Crochet A Long.
Although I have made the square  into a hot Pad,
 it can also be used for lots of other projects.
 A Blanket, a Table Runner, 
a Bag, a Scarf, a Hat and so much more.

The Square measures 8 inches, and it a mitered Style 
Square. And Has a lovely little four petal flower in the
 beginning square. 


 Any Med (4) Weight yarn can be used for this project.
 Cotton is best for hot pads, but if you using it as a
 decoration, than Acrylic is fine.

The colors or stripes are not listed in the pattern. 
Get in Your yarn Stash see what colors you can
 put together. make it all one color, or use as many 
colors as you like

Scrap Happy Granny Hot Pad Crochet Pattern

Skill: Easy
 
Materials:
Crochet Hook - H / 5.00 mm
Yarn – Med (4) 2 oz. Cotton / Acrylic
             Your choice of colors From your yarn stash
Yarn Needle
 
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Single Crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Skip (sk)
Space (sp)
Change to (chgto)
Front Loop Only (FLO)
Back Loop Only (BLO)
 
Size: 8 Inches
 
Notes:
Ch3 Counts as a dc
Ch3 Changing Color Ch3 After the color change
Color Changes are not indicated in the pattern,
                   you change colors s you like.
 
Pattern: Make 2 Squares

R: 1 – Ch 5, join in a circle, ch1
12 sc in the circle, join, (12 sc)



R: 2 – FLO, *slst in the next sc, ch2, 3dc in the Next sc, 
ch2, slst in the next sc*
Repeat From * to * 3 more times, slst in the next sc (4 petals)


R: 3 – BLO, ch3, dc, ch1, 2 dc in the next sc,
*sk 2 sc, 2dc, ch1, 2 dc, ch1 in the next sc*
Repeat From * to * 2 more times,
 join to the ch 3 with a slst, slst in to the ch 1 sp
(4 sets of 2dc, ch1, 2dc, ch1)


R: 4 – ch3, dc, ch1, 2 dc in the ch1 sp, 1 dc in the next 2 dc,
dc in the ch1 sp, 1 dc in the next 2 dc,
*2dc, ch1, 2dc in the next ch1 sp, 1 dc in the next 2 dc,
dc in the ch1 sp, 1 dc in the next 2 dc*
Repeat From * to * 2 More times, join, to the ch3 with a slst
(4 sets of 2c, ch1, 2dc, 5 dc)


R: 5 – 1 dc in the ch 1 sp, 1 dc in the next dcs,
2dc, ch1, 2dc in the ch1 sp, 1 dc in the next dcs,
1 dc in the ch1 sp, 
(10 dc, 2dc, ch1, 2dc, 10 dc)

R: 6 - TURN, ch 3,  1 dc in the next dcs,
2dc, ch1, 2dc in the ch1 sp, 1 dc in the next dcs,
1 dc in the ch1 sp,
(12 dc, 2dc, ch1, 2dc, 12 dc)

 
R: 7 – TURN, ch 3,1 dc in the next dcs,
2dc, ch1, 2dc in the ch1 sp, 1 dc in the next dcs,
1 dc in the ch1 sp, TURN, ch 3
(14 dc, 2dc, ch1, 2dc, 14dc)
  
R: 8 – TURN, ch 3, 1 dc in the next dcs,
2dc, ch1, 2dc in the ch1 sp, 1 dc in the next dcs,
1 dc in the ch1 sp, TURN, ch 3
(16 dc, 2dc, ch1, 2dc, 16 dc)
 

R: 9 –  Ch3, dc, ch1, 2dc in the 1st dc, 1 dc in each dc across,
2dc, ch1, 2 dc in the ch1 sp, 1 dc in each dc across,
2dc, ch1, 2dc in the last dc, evenly st 17 dc across,
2 dc, ch1, 2dc in the 1ast dc, evenly st 17 dc across,
Join to the 1st dc, tie off and weave in your ends.
 
Repeat R: 1 – R: 9 to Make another square
 

R: 10 – Place the 2 squares together, right side out,
Join yarn to one of the ch2 sp corner,
Sc around the Squares, swing them together,


Join to the 1st sc, ch 12, slst in the same sc to form a loop,
14 Sc around the loop, slst in the next sc, tie off weave in your ends.
