I Am So excited to Release This New Red, White

 And Blue Bucket Hat.

I Love The way the colors work, 

I Love The way it fits and I love how easy it is to make,

 And I especially love how the big silver glitter star

 button looks on the hat.

The hat is stitched up in Vanna's Choice yarn. 

It is a medium (4) weight acrylic yarn.

We used a 5.5 mm Crochet hook for lose fitting 

comfy bucket style hat.

This style bucket hat is great for the girls and the guys.

I chose to make it in Patriotic Colors, which

 I really love.  Although It can be made in any yarn colorway, 

or combination of colors you want. 

Ombre, Striped, Or all in one color.

Materials:

Crochet hook – I/ 5.5 mm

Yarn – Med (4) Acrylic – Vanna’s Choice – 2 oz. of Each color

               C1- Red, C2 - White, C3 – Blue Mist

Yarn Needle

Optional - Button - 1.5 - 2 inches, your choice

 

Stitches:

Chain (ch)

Slip Stitch (slst)

Single Crochet (sc)

Double Crochet (dc)

Space (sp)

Skip (sk)

Change to (chgto)

 

Size: Fits a 22- 24 inch head loosely

 

Notes:

Ch3 Counts as a dc

When Changing colors, leave other colors attached,

We will be carrying our yarn up the inside of the hat.

 

R: 1 – With C1, Ch5, join in a circle, ch3,

11 dc in the circle, join to the ch3 with a slst.

(12 dc)

R: 2 – Chgto C2, leave C1 attached, ch3, 

dc in the same st as the ch3,

2 dc in each dc, join to the ch3 with a slst.

(24 dc)

R: 3 – Chgto c2, leave C1, And C2 attached,

Ch3, dc in the same st as the ch3, ch1,

*sk the next dc, 2dc in the next dc, ch1*

Repeat From * to * 10 More Times,

Join to the ch3 with a slst, slst in the next dc,

slst in the next ch1sp. (12 sets of 2 dc, ch1)

R: 4 – Chgto C1, leave C2 and C3 attached,

Ch3, dc, ch1, 2dc in the ch1 sp,

*2dc, ch1, 2dc in the next ch1 sp*

Repeat From * to * 10 more times

Join to the ch3 with a slst, slst in the next dc,

slst in the nextch1 sp.

(12 sets of 2dc, ch1, 2dc)

Continue to leave other colors attached, when Changing colors,

We will be carrying our yarn up the inside of the hat.

 

R: 5 – Chgto to C2, ch3, dc, ch1, 2dc in the ch1 sp, ch1,

*2dc, ch1, 2dc in the next ch1 sp, ch1*

Repeat From * to * 10 more times

Join to the ch3 with a slst, slst in the next dc,

slst in the nextch1 sp.

(12 sets of 2dc, ch1, 2dc, ch1)

R: 6 – Chg to C3, Repeat R: 5

R: 7 - Chgto to C1, ch3, dc, ch1, 2dc in the ch1 sp, ch2,

*2dc, ch1, 2dc in the next ch1 sp, ch2*

Repeat From * to * 10 more times

Join to the ch3 with a slst, slst in the next dc,

slst in the nextch1 sp.

R: 13 - Chgto to C1, ch3, dc, ch1, 2dc in the ch1 sp, ch3,

*2dc, ch1, 2dc in the next ch1 sp, ch3*

Repeat From * to * 10 more times

Join to the ch3 with a slst, slst in the next dc,

slst in the nextch1 sp.

(12 sets of 2dc, ch1, 2dc, ch3)

 

R: 14 - Chgto C2 – Repeat R: 13

 

R: 15 - Chgto C3 – Repeat R: 13

 

R: 16 – Chgto C1, tie off C2 and C3,

Ch1, *2 sc in the ch1 sp, 1sc in each dc,

3 sc in the ch3 sp, 1 sc in the next 2 dc*

Repeat From * to * around, join to the 1^st sc with a slst,

tie off and weave in your ends. 

Sew A Star or Decorative Button On if you like.
