 from Cotton yarn.

So here is my next 
Cotton Crochet Pattern :
Round Bottom Cotton Shopping Bag
Make is solid, make it striped or use up all your left over cotton.
It is a very stretchy and the perfect size bag for shopping at the Farmer's Market.

Round Bottom Pink Cotton Bag Crochet Pattern

Skill: Easy

Materials:
Hook - J / 6.00MM
Cotton Worsted Weight Yarn (4) - 5 oz. Peaches and Cream
            Any cotton, cotton blend or WW(4) Acrylic will work
Yarn Needle

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (sl st)
Single Crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)

Size: 15 inches long and 20 inches around

Notes:
Ch1 does not count as a st
Ch3 counts as a dc
Join Rounds with a Slip Stitch

R: 1 - Ch 5, join in a circle, ch 3, 11 dc in the circle, join to the ch3, ch3
 (12dc)


R: 2 - Dc in the same st as the ch3, 2 dc in each dc around, join, ch 3 (24dc)

R: 3 - Dc in the same st as the ch3,
*1 dc in the next st, 2 dc in next dc*
Repeat From * to * around, join, ch 3 (36dc)

R: 4 - Dc in the same st as the ch3,
*1 dc in the next 2 sts, 2 dc in the next dc*,
Repeat From *to* around, join, ch 3 (48dc)

R: 5 - Dc in the same st as the ch3,
*1 dc in the next 3 sts, 2 dc in the next dc*,
Repeat From *to* around, join, ch 3 (60dc)

R: 6 - Cross Stitch Row- dc in the dc before the Ch3,
* Skip the next st, dc in the next st, cross back and dc in the skipped st*,
Repeat From *to * around, join to the ch3, ch 3 (60sts).


R: 7 - 1 dc in each st around, join, ch 3 (60dc)



R: 8 - R: 23 - Repeat R: 6 and R : 7 Alternating Rows.
Ch1 after R: 23

If you would like the bag longer, 
continue to alternate R: 6 and R:7 until desired length.

R: 24 - 1 sc in each st around, joi, ch1 (60sc)

R: 25 -  Handles - 10 sc sts, ch 20, skip the next 10 sts,
 join to the next st with a sc, 1 sc in the next 19 sts, ch 20, 
skip the next 10, join to the next st with a  sts, 1sc in the last 9 sts, 
 join, ch 1
(10sc, 20chs, 20 sc, 20 chs, 10 sc =100 sts)

Make sure your handles are centered evenly on the bag.

R: 26 - 1 sc in each st and in each ch around, join, ch 1 (100 sc)

R: 27 - 1 sc in each sc, join and tie off. weave in your end. (100 sc)

Draw string - optional.
Ch 90, and tie off. tie a knot in each end. 
Weave the ch through last Cross Stitch row at the top of the bag.

  1. You can find designs in a number of places. Some specialist stores should have them. For example you may find them in pet stores or certain craft shops. If they do not have them in stock they may be able to order them in or direct you somewhere where you can find them.
