Tips For Crocheting Blanket Yarns 

So you have purchased some beautiful Blanket Yarn. 
It's soft and fuzzy but really awkward to work with.

This yarn is amazing if you love bulky yarns like I do. 
It works up fast, and makes great gifts.
It's perfect for blankets, pillows, lovies and more.

Here is a few tips that might help you:

1. Make Sure You Use A Big  Crochet Hook.

When working with blanket yarn I prefer N / 9.00MM

Even if the Yarn label says smaller. 

2. Loosen Up Your Tension

This yarn is best crocheted loosely. When you are using a big hook, you don't want to be fighting with trying to get your hook in the stitches. I even think it looks better just a bit looser.

3. Stick With Simple Stitches and Stitch Patterns.

The blanket yarn does not work well for intricate or fancy stitches. I prefer a Basic Double crochet, Granny Stitch or maybe a simple wave stitch.

Detailed Stitches like a Shell Stitch or Crocodile stitch just do not work up well, The details are lost in all the fuzziness.

4. Take Your Time - Slow Down

This yarn can be frustrating, so slow downand take your
 time. Watching
 closely where you are putting that crochet Hook.

5. Lastly.... Take Breaks

The blanket yarn and working with a large hook can be hard on your hands and Wrists. So You may need to take a break,

set your project aside, and maybe work on a different project.
