Skill Easy
Materials:
Crochet Hook - I / 5.50 MM
Yarn- Med (4) Worsted Weight Yarn - White C1, and Red C2 (2
oz. of each color)

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single Crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Change to (chgto)
Foundation Single Crochet (FSC)
Front Post Double Crochet (FPDC)
Size: Fits 20 - 22 inches head. (Remember yarn is stretchy)
3Sts = 1 inch, 2 Rows = 1 inch
Notes:
Ch1 does not count as st
Ch3 Counts as a dc
When changing colors Ch 1/ Ch3 After the color change,
When changing colors do not cut yarn,
We will trail the yarn up the inside of the hat.
Round are joined to the 1st st with a slst
Pattern:
We will be starting at the top of hat

Option 2 –
ch 60, join, 1 sc in each sc, join (60sc)
R: 2 – Chgto C2, ch1, 1sc in the 1st st, 1 dc in the
next st,
*1sc in the next st, 1 dc in the next st*
Repeat From * to * around, join,(60sts)
R: 3 – Chgt to C1, ch3,
*1 dc in the next sc, 1 sc in the next dc*
Repeat From * to * around, join (60sts)
Make sure you are stitching your sc in the dc, and your dc in the sc,
in order for the Hounds Tooth pattern to work.

R: 4 – Chgto To C2, ch1, sc in the top of the ch3,
*1 dc in the next sc, 1 sc in the next dc*
Repeat From * to * around, join (60sts)
R: 5 – R: 18 – Repeat R: 3 and R: 4 –Alternating Rows and colors
Hat Band -
R: 19 – - Chg to C1 – or the color you wish to use for the
band of your hat.
ch3, 1 Dc in each st around, join, ch 3 (60 dc)
R: 20 – *Fpdc in the next dc, dc in the next dc*
Repeat From * to * around, join, ch 3 (30 FPDC, 30dc)
R: 21 - *Fpdc in the next fpdc, dc in the next dc*
Repeat From * to * around, join, ch 1 (30 FPDC, 30dc)
R: 22 – 1 slst in each dc round, join to 1st slst, Tie off weave in your ends.
To Close The Top
Of The Hat – Cut an 18 inch piece of matching yarn,
and thread it on your yarn needle. Stitch around the top of the
hat, and gather closed,
weave in to the inside
of the hat and tie securely.
Add a pom pom, or
Add Buttons, bows or embellishments you would like.

I left mine plain so the Hounds Stitch Pattern
could be the star of the hat.
