I received this Question a few weeks ago,
"Is it a Pompom or A Pompon? And
Whats the best way to make one?

I have always called them "Pompoms"
So I went to Wikipedia.
"A pom-pom – also spelled pom-ponpompom or pompon –
is a loose, fluffy, decorative ball or tuft of fibrous material.
Pom-poms may come in many colors, sizes, and varieties and
are made from a wide array of materials, including wool,
cotton, paper, plastic, and occasionally feathers."

I guess I was right and wrong!

My Favorite way to make Pompoms really depends on the size I need make.
here are my 3 Favorites ways to make Pompoms.
See the Video Of how I make Pompoms on my Youtube Channel at this Link

1. For Tiny Pompoms.
I use my fingers.

2. For Medium Pompoms.
I use toilet paper rolls.

3. For Large Pompoms.
I use a large embroidery hoop.

Silly Yarn Poem - I'm Just An Oma Having Fun! | Posh Pooch Designs

Silly Yarn Poem - I'm Just An Oma Having Fun
Written by Sara Sach of
 Posh Pooch Designs
I wrote this silly poem about yarn, because
someone on Youtube told me,
" You need to be more professional".
My answer was, " I am not a professional,
I am Just an Oma having fun!"

Oh, My Grandkids call me Oma.
See me "perform" the Poem on my Youtube Channel at This LINK

I’M Just an Oma Having fun!

I Love Balls of Yarn, and crochet hooks.

I Just don’t have time for Romance Books.

I Got lots of yarn balls up to the ceiling,

made of squishy Fluff,

I’ve Got every color imaginable and More,

Because I just cannot get enough.

But, that’s ok with me…

Because I’m just an Oma having fun!

I’ve been told, I am hooker fine,

Because I love to Crochet.

But I just cannot help it,

I need to do it every day!

I love to use my crochet hook

to create what’s in my mind.

Looping, joining, and slip stitching

with all the yarn I find.

And that’s Okay With me… Because I am

 just an Oma having fun!

Knitting is fun, and it looks great,

it’s as pretty as can be.

Embroidery, tatting or cross stitch

just don’t do it for me.

I need my hook and balls of yarn

well within my reach.

And Some would even say,

that makes me a yarn Freak!

But ya know, that’s okay With me…

Because I am just an Oma having Fun!

So you see, I am just an Oma having Fun,

Doing what I love to Do,

Acrylic, cotton, alpaca too,

Bamboo blends and Wool,

Whether the yarn is thick or thin,

 I just love it all.

Yarn, yarn, yarn, yarn, yarn, yarn, yarn,

I just love all  yarn!

And I m’ Just An Oma having Fun….

With YARN!

I even have Yarn balls in my hair!

I guess I am  Yarn Goddess!

Live Video Chat With Sara - Magic Circle Vs. Ch2 Circle Method - Posh Pooch Designs

Live Video Chat With Sara Sach

I am Just An Oma Having fin,
 I am not a professional!
On today's Live Video Chat we are discussing
the Magic Circle Vs. Ch2 Method.

See The Live Video On My Youtube Channel
At This LINK
I have gotten several questions concerning which
 technique is better.
When I first started Crocheting the Magic Circle or
Magic Ring was often called the
"Beginning Circle or Ring".

But Actually I learned 3 different Methods
 for Starting a Crochet Circle.

See a Video on Both Methods on my Youtube Channel at this Link

What is the Magic Circle:
The Magic Circle is a technique used to start a crochet project, when crocheting in a circle.
You form a loose loop of yarn, which you crochet around,
that can be pulled closed after the first round.

What is the Ch2 Circle Method:
The Ch2 Method is also used in forming a beginning circle.
You ch2, then stitch your first ring of stitches in
the 2nd ch from the hook, then join in a circle.

What is the Chain 5, join Method:
This Method is where you literally chain 5, and join in a circle, Then begin stitching in the circle.

All three Methods work great and it is usually a preference
as to which method to use. There are however, some
projects that I prefer the ch2 method, such as small toys.

Live Video Chat With Sara - Is It A Cowl, A Scarf, An infinity Scarf or A Mobius Cowl? | Posh Pooch Designs

Live Video Chat With Sara Sach

Is It A Cowl, a Scarf,  An infinity Scarf
 or Mobius Cowl?
Are you as Confused as I am?
Okay, let me see if We can Figure it out.

A Cowl is:
A loose fitting Hood, that is worn around
the neck and can be pulled up on the head
as a hood. Basically a scarf stitched in a tube,
that can be slipped over your head, and hangs around your neck loosely.

An Infinity Scarf is:
A large looped scarf that is connected in a
circle or loop. It can very long and warn
many ways. It can wrapped about the neck
several times, wrapped around the waist,
or hanging freely around the shoulders.

An Infinity Cowl is:
The Same as the Infinity Scarf only much
shorter, and usually only hung on the neck.
Keeps your neck toasty in cold windy weather.

A Mobius Scarf is:
A Mobius Scarf is similar to both,
but has a Twist worked into the design.
It can be long or short, thick or thin.
What makes it the Mobius is the
 worked in twist.

Live Video Chat - How and When to " Single Crochet in the 2nd ch from the hook". | Posh Pooch Designs

Today's Video Chat  with Sara Sach of
 Posh Pooch Designs,

See the Live Video Chat on my Youtube Channel
 at this LINK

On Today's Video Chat we are discussing
"How and When to chain, single Crochet
in the 2nd chain from the hook."

1. How to Single Crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook.
Let's say your pattern reads,
"ch 9, turn, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook,
1 sc in each ch across. (8sc)

So you will chain 9 chs, next you will turn your work,
you skip the 1st chain, and begin stitching in the next chain,
which is the 2nd chain from the hook.

We do this because the 1st chain is acting as our turning chain.
A Turning Chain is just a chain  we do when stitching single Crochets in rows.
We stitch the row, then Turn and Ch1
This makes the rows turn nicely and smoothly

2. When to Single Crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook.

For most Patterns, you will use this method when stitching
single crochet rows. Some  Beginning rounds as well.

3. When Not to Single Crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook.

As a rule, with most Amigurumi projects you will begin
stitching in the first chain, because you are stitching in
continuous rounds.

Sometimes a pattern designer will have you do some other method, so be sure to follow the directions given by the pattern designer.
If you have questions, be sure to ask the pattern designer.
