Working with velvet yarns can be a little tricky to
work with, but the time spent is well worth the results.
Here Are Few Hints To Make It Easier.
1. Choose a larger project.
Do not try to make little intricate designs.
Most of the color variegation can not be seen
with a small project. I suggest scarves, throws,
blankets, cowls and pillows.
2. Choose a project with very little detail.
Most intricate detail is lost because of the
fuzziness of the yarn.
3. Crochet loosely - It is better to be too lose then
too tight with this type of yarn. It is hard to find the
stitches if you crochet too tightly, and just as hard
to work with if you stitch tightly.
So relax and loosen up a bit.
4. Don't let the yarn frustrate you.
Make a practice swatch, and study how to find your
stitches, and where to place your hook.
If you are struggling with it, set it down
and come back later.
Some really great things about Velvet Yarns_ It has a beautiful feel and makes very luxurious items. It has great drape and flows nicely for a scarf or shawl. Once it is crocheted or knitted it becomes more stretchy. The colors a rich and beautiful.

You will
notice that the joins will move father round the bag for each row.
Don’t worry,
it’s supposed to do that.
Add More rows if a longer bag is needed.

Handle:
With 2 strands of your yarn, join yarn to one side of the top of the bag,
making sure it is centered, ch 30,
attach handle on the other side of the bag, with a slst,
slst in the next st, turn, ch1 and sc back across the ch,
Join to the sc next to the beginning slst, tie off.
Weave in all your ends securely.
Button Loop - Cut a 10 inch piece of yarn, center and slide through the top
of the bag to form a loop, make sure to tie to the inside of the bag, trim off extra yarn.
Line up button on the front of the bag and sew in place with matching yarn.

We talked about Scarf lengths last week, but about infinity scarves and cowls? The Cowl / Circle Scarf - Should be about 18 inches around, and about 24 inches if you want to wear it as a Hood / Snood. It is a short scarf joined into a circle.
The Infinity Scarf/ Mobius Scarf
The scarf is the same length around as a regular scarf,
Only it is twisted and joined.

The Terms Cowl and Infinity Scarf have been used interchangeably.
They both refer to a scarf that is joined.
The cowl usually means that the scarf is joined, by not twisted.
