How To Make A Yarn Ball Wreath

How To Make A Yarn Ball
 Christmas Wreath
By Sara Sach of Posh Pooch Designs

Supplies:
14 inch Styrofoam Ring
Assort. Sizes of Styrofoam Balls
Assort. yarns
( I chose all Christmas Sparkle yarns)
Hot Glue Gun
Hot Glue sticks

Step 1: Wind yarn of your choice around the Styrofoam ring.
Put little dabs of hot glue to hold the yarn, But,
please note: The Hot glue will melt the Styrofoam.
so tiny little dabs of glue is all you need.

Step 2: Wrap different size balls with different color yarns,
again only using little dabs of hot glue.

Step 3: Arrange your yarn covered balls
onto your yarn wrapped ring.
This is were I used a lot of hot glue
 to hold them in place.

Last Step: Braid some of the coordinating yarn
and make a ribbon.
And also make a yarn hanger by looping the
matching yarn over the top of the Wreath.
All Done.
I Love it!
This project took me about an hour to make.
The longest part was wrapping the yarn on the ring.

Enjoy!

Crochet Pillow Cover

This is not a crochet pattern,
but rather,
an explanation of how I crocheted
a pillow cover.
I have lots of left over balls of yarn.......
and a really ugly pillow.
So I figured..... yarn bomb that Ugly pillow!

I chained enough chains  for the length of the pillow
and then added 3 more inches.
For the pattern I chose to do a "sc, dc, sc dc ..." across.
I randomly chose yarn balls, when one ran out,
I randomly grabbed another one yarn ball.

Once I Had enough rows to cover the pillow,
I did a row around all four sides of the pillow cover.

So for the other side of the pillow cover,
I decided on Granny squares.
Again just randomly putting colors together.

Next, I attached the front to the back
by single Crocheting around the 3 sides.
Then I slipped the ugly pillow inside,
and sc  the opening closed.
Finished Striped side of the pillow.

Granny Square side of the pillow.
I really love how it turned out!

Dog Poop Christmas Ornament...REALLY!

OK..... I thought of this the other day
 when I was out
on the front lawn doing 'Dog Poop Patrol"
with my Grand kids who are 3 and 4 yrs old.
I gave each one a different color plastic
poop bag and we began to pick it up
putting it in the bigger trash bag.
They thought it was a fun game and
They loved it.

Hat Trim and Pompom

Trim: Thread a 12 inch piece of fuzzy white yarn on your needle.

Stitch loose long stitches around the hat, you may need to pull a little
 to keep them even.

Pompom- Wrap yarn around one finger loosely, pull a 12 inch piece of yarn

through the loop and tie. I didn't cut mine, but you can if you want too.
Use the 2 long ends to attach to top of hat.

Face:

Stitch 2 French knots or short stitches for the eyes With the White yarn.
Stitch a smile on with red yarn.

Then with green yarn, cut 2 12 inch length, then count down 5 rounds from the hat

and tie them around the poop, so it pulls in and form a head. Tie in the front and trim.

Cut another 12 piece of green yarn and loop through the hat to form the tie.

I hope you think this is as funny as me
and my grand kids do.We just put up the
Christmas tree and it was the
first ornament on the tree!

Keep your negative comments to your self.
This ornament is meant as a light hearted,
silly ornament.

Yarn, Yarn, and More Yarn !

My Grandkids are here visiting
 and they love yarn!
Today they decided to try to crochet.
So I gave them some
yarn and a hook.....

And they began to create........

They strung the yarn,
From the kitchen to the living room to......

down the stairs and back up again.....

Back to the kitchen......
back over  to the family room.
(sorry this pic is sideways...I can't seem to fix it)

I Love Yarn!
They had fun 'cleaning up" all the yarn too!
We had fun and made great memories!
