Garden Whirly Jig Crochet Pattern
By Sara Sach of Posh Pooch Designs
HAPPY FRIDAY FUN DAY!
I am so excited about today's Crochet Video.
I did a "Whirly Jig" video about 5 years about and
decided it was time to up date the video and make sure
there is a written pattern with pictures as well.
These were one of the first projects I learned to crochet
so many years ago. About 50 years! YIKES!
They are so fun to make in many different colors
combinations. They help keep birds and critters from
getting in the garden. The motion of the whirly
jigs scare away. Last year I lost some strawberries because
the birds where eating the seeds right off the berries!
I Love To use the The yarn bee SCRUB-OLOGY
SCRUB IT yarn from Hobby Lobby. Yes, it's a scrubby
yarn for making scrubbers. That is what makes it
perfect for making the Whirly jigs. It is 100% nylon,
so it will not sock up the water and get moldy,
and it's made for getting wet. It also dries very quickly!
It's a bulky (5) yarn it will stitch up quickly, too.
I call that a win, win, winning yarn!
They are also so pretty and fun to watch as they whirl.
Again, you can make them in any color combinations. Add beads, bells, and whatever you want. Just be creative
and have fun.
