The Sunflower Round Placemat is designed using the Sunflower Coaster Motif.
They can be made using any Med(4) yarn
 and perfect for indoor and outdoor entertaining. 
And, as you can see, the color possibilities are endless.

 Skill: Easy

Materials:

Crochet hook – H/ 5.00

Yarn –  Med (4) Acrylic - I used Vanna's Choice, 

              Red heart super saver and I Love This yarn

            (C1  - Brown, C2- gold, C3 - Off White

Yarn needle

Stitches:

Chain (ch)

Slip Stitch (slst)

Single Crochet (sc)

Double Crochet (dc)

Change to (chgto)

Size: 

Notes : When changing colors, ch3 after the color change.

Rounds are joined to the ch3, slst to the next sp.

We are going to take our Sunflower Coaster

 and make it into a Placemat

R: 1 – R: 4 - At This LINK

R: 5 – Chgto C3, join yarn to the top of the first petal, ch3, 2dc, ch2

*3dc, ch2 in the top of the next petal*

Repeat From * to * 14 times, join to the ch3 with a slst.

Slst to the ch2 sp, ch 3

(16 groups of 3dc, ch2)

R: 6 – 2dc in the 1^st ch2 sp, ch3,

*3 dc in the next ch2 sp, ch 3*

Repeat From * to * 15 times, join to the ch3, slst to the ch3 sp, ch 3

(16 groups of 3dc, ch3)

R: 7 -2dc in the 1^st ch2 sp, ch4,

*3 dc in the next ch3 sp, ch 4*

Repeat From * to * 15 times, join to the ch3, slst to the ch4 sp, ch 3

(16 groups of 3dc, ch4)

R: 8 - 2dc in the 1^st ch2 sp, ch5,

*3 dc in the next ch4 sp, ch 5*

Repeat From * to * 15 times, join to the ch4, slst to the ch5 sp, ch 3

(16 groups of 3dc, ch4)

R: 9 – 4 dc in the 1^st ch5 sp, ch1, sc in the 2^nd dc of the next group, ch1,

*5 dc in the next ch5 sp, ch1, sc in the 2^nd dc of the next group, ch1*

Repeat From * to * around. Join, tie off, and Weave In your ends.

If The Placemat is curling you can go up a hook size, and you can also Block it, if needed.
