FRIDAY FUN WITH SARA - Gnome Christmas Hat Ornaments | Posh Pooch Designs

  FRIDAY FUN WITH SARA
Gnome Christmas Hat Ornaments  With Sara Sach of Posh Pooch Designs

These Christmas ornament Hats are so cute,
And we all love Gnomes, so adding a Gnome beard
 makes them even cuter.
You can make them using any weight yarn you like.
I recommend light 3 - bulky 5 yarns.

The colors and fibers are also up to you.
I prefer Acrylic as cotton can be a little thin and
 give the look I like.
But You will not needing  wash them so any
other fibers are great. I think Favorite School
and Team colors would be fun.

The Gnome beard is added with 1 wooden or brown
bead and a white loose pompom. It adds a fun touch.
You can add buttons, beads, bells or any other
 embellishments you prefer.

Let’s Make The Hat:

Measure and cut your rolls at 1.5 inches
Each tube will make 2 hats

Cut yarn in strands 18 inches long.
The Amount needed depend on yarn weight.
I start with 30 strands and cut more if needed.

Wrap the strands of yarn around the tube 2 at a time.
Continue to add until the tube if filled up.

Gently pull the yarn strand to the top of the hat,
And with one of the strands of yarn tie a secure knot around it.

Tie a knot at the top of the strand of yarn, it will be your ornament hanger.
Trim the top of the hat to resemble a pompom.

Let’s Make a Beard:
Cut  strand of yarn 20 inches long, set it aside.
using 2 strands of yarn,
Wrap the White yarn around your 4 finger about 35 times.
Slip the strand of yarn through the loops, and tie securely.
Cut And Trim the yarns strands.

It is up to you if you want the beard long or short.

Tie a knot in the ends of the long strands and with a crochet
hook pull through the top of the hat till it is where you want the beard to sit.

Tie a knot in the top and gently ease it to the knot in the top of the hat.

The beard will fit loosely.
If you want it to stay put add a touch of glue to the
inside of the hat and press the beard to it. let it dry.

Glue on the bead for the nose.

Tie a bow around the hat at the pompom.
Add another strand of yarn in a contrasting color and tie a bow.

Add buttons, bells, beads or any embellishment to make the more personal.

I hope you enjoyed making some
Gnome Christmas Hat Ornaments
I know I sure did.
