The School Spirit Cowl Is The last Crochet Pattern
 Of The School Spirit Crochet Pattern Series.
This Crochet Pattern, as with all of the School Spirit
Crochet  Patterns, is designed as a "Back To School" set.
They are great for any school or team, or in any 
colors of your choosing.


All the patterns are quick and fun to stitch up, 
and fun to give as gifts. They are also fun to wear to 
cheer on your favorite teams. Parents will love them too.
 They can stay warm, while cheering on their kids, 
and teams also.

The School Spirit Cowl And Scarf can be made into
 either a Cowl or Scarf. You can choose The length needed
 for you or whomever you are making it for. It is designed to
 make the other patterns in the School spirit Series.

Materials:
 Crochet Hook – I /5.50 MM
Yarn - Med (4) Red Heart With love (C1- 2 oz., For Cowl - 4 oz. For Scarf
             C2 – 1 oz., C3 – 1 oz.)
3 Buttons – 1. 5 inches 
Yarn Needle
 
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Single Crochet (sc)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Front Post Double Crochet (fpdc)
Back Post Double Crochet (bpdc)
Change to (chgto)
 
Size:
9 X 24 Inches - Cowl
 For Scarf - 3 rows = 2 inches

Notes:
Ch3 Counts as dc
Ch1 Does not count as a st
When Changing Colors Ch1/  Ch3 after The color change
 
Pattern:
 
R: 1 – With C1, Ch27, dc in the 4th ch from the hook,
 1 dc in each ch across,
Turn, ch 3 (25 dc)



R: 2 - *fpdc in the next dc, dc in the next dc*
Repeat From * to * across, turn, ch 3 (12 fpdc, 13 dc)



R: 3 - *bpdc in the next dc, dc in the next dc*
Repeat From * to * across, turn, ch 3 (12 bpdc, 13 dc)



R: 4 – Repeat R: 2
 
R: 5 – Repeat R: 3, do not ch 3


R: 6 – Chgto C2, Ch1, sc in each st across, turn, ch1 (25 sc)
 
R: 7 – 1 Sc n each sc, turn, (25 sc)



R: 8 – Chgto to C3, ch1, 1 hdc in each sc across, turn, ch 1 (25 hdc)
 
R: 9 - 1 hdc in each hdc, turn, ch 1 (25 hdc)
 
R: 10 - R: 11 – Repeat R: 9



R: 12 – Chgto to C2, ch1, 1 sc in each hdc, turn, ch 1 (25 sc)
 
R: 13 – 1 sc in each sc, turn (25 sc)



R: 14 – Chgto  C1, ch 3, 1 dc in each hdc, turn, ch 3 (25 dc)
 
R: 15 – 1 dc in each dc, turn, ch 3 (25 dc)


R: 16 – R: 34 – Repeat R: 15
Do not ch3 after R: 34


If you are stitching up a Scarf, continue to
 Repeat R: 15 for as long as needed.
 
R: 35 – Repeat R: 6
 
R: 36 – Repeat R: 7
 
R: 37 – R: 40 – Repeat R: 8 – R: 11
 
R; 41- Repeat R: 12
 
R: 42 – Repeat R: 13



R: 43 - Chgto C1, ch3, 1 dc in each sc across, turn, ch 3
 
R: 44 – Repeat R: 2
 
R: 45 - Repeat R: 3
 
R: 46 - Repeat R: 2
 
R: 47 - Repeat R: 3, turn, 1 sc  in each st across,


working down the side of the cowl, evenly sc across.
Tie off and weave in your ends.



If you are making a Scarf, you are done here.
 
If you are making a Cowl: 
Line up the ends of the Cowl and sew the button through
 both thicknesses.
The buttons are meant to button and un button, but to hold
 the ends of the cowl together.
