 The Scrap Happy Tote Bag is our first Scrap Happy

 project for 2023. 

 I have been working on it for quite a while.

 I started it with several different

 colors of yarn from my stash, and just did not like

 how it was looking. I then remembered I had some 

Vanna's Choice yarn left from some other projects.

The Vanna's Choice yarn colors and shades all seem

 to work together nicely.

I Love How The tote bag stitched up. I used 2 strands

 of Medium (4) held together and it makes strong tote

 bag, but also a very pretty bag, that love using.

It's strong enough for the Farmers Market, and you will

 have a lovely bag that everyone will love. 

The bag measures about 24 inches around X 14 

inches tall, not including the handle. So it's a really nice

 size for shopping, using as a project bag, or maybe

 your hand bag.

Materials:
Crochet Hook – 6.5 MM/ K
Yarn - Med (4) acrylic 10 oz. I used Vanna’s Choice assorted colors.
Yarn Needle
 
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single Crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Back Loop Only (blo)

Skip (sk)
Space (sp)
Triple Cross Stitch (tr crst) Explained in the pattern

 Size:  24 inches around X 14 inches tall, 

not counting the handle
 
Notes:
Ch1 does not count as a st
Ch3 Counts as a dc

Pattern:
 
R: 1 - Ch 25, sc in the 2^nd ch from the hook,
And in each ch across, turn, ch 1 (24 sc)

R: 2 – 1 sc in each sc across, turn, ch 1 (24sc)

R: 3 – R: 6 – Repeat R: 2
 

R: 7 – Turn working down the 1^st short side,
2 sc in the corner, evenly st 4 sc, 2 sc in the next corner (8sc)

Turn working across the side, 1 sc in each sc (24 sc)

Turn working down the 2^nd short side,
2 sc in the corner, evenly st 4 sc, 2 sc in the next corner (8sc)

 Turn working across the last side, 1 sc in each sc,
Join to the 1^st sc, ch 1 (24 sc)
(24 + 8 + 8 + 24 = 64 sc)
 

R: 8 – Working in the BLO, 1 sc in each sc around,
 join to the 1^st sc, ch1 (64 sc)
 

R: 9 – 1 sc in each sc around, join, ch 3 (64sc)

R: 10 – 1 dc in each sc around, join to the ch 3, ch 4 (64 dc)

R: 11 – Cross back and tr in the sc before the ch3,
*sk the next sc, tr in the next sc, cross back and tr in the sk st*
Repeat From * to * around, join to ch with a slst, ch1 (32 tr crsts)

R: 12 – 1 sc in each st around, join to the 1^st sc, ch3 (64 sc)

R: 13 – R: 26 – Continue to Repeat R: 11 and R: 12
Alternating Rows.

R: 27 - R: 29 - 1 sc in each st around, join, ch 1 (64 sc)
 

R: 30 - Handle – 1 sc in the next 6 sc, turn, ch1 (6sc)
 Make sure your handle is centered on the side of the bag

R: 31 – 1 sc in each sc, turn, ch 1 (6sc)
 
R: 32 – R: 61 Repeat R: 31,

Center handle to the other side of the bag, and join with slsts,
Tie off, weave in your ends. (6 slst)
