Live Video - What Type of Crocheter are you? Posh Pooch Designs

There are 2 types of Crocheters.
Artistic Crocheters and Technical Crocheters.
When I first learned to crochet, I measured everything
and never gave a second thought to the Stitch count.
I went by inches, not gauge.
I was told that is because I am an Artist.
So I have come to the conclusion that there are
2 types of Crocheters.

Technical Crocheters and Artistic Crocheters.
These are my definitions and explanations.
One is not better then another,
they are just different and see Crochet Differently.

See the Glass Pumpkin Craft on my Youtube
Channel at this LINK

Technical Crocheters need the details, stitch counts
and gauge or they can not crochet. And they will not deviate
from them no mater what. If the project is off by 1 count,
they can not go on or finish the project till that is resolved.
They become easily frustrated and will give up rather then
stray from the plan. I find they also have to have the
exact yarn or fiber and color the pattern calls for.
Technical Crocheters also tend to be tighter crocheters.

Artistic Crocheters like having the details, but use it as
more of a guide. If the Stitch count or gauge is off you
adjust the pattern till it works. You are comfortable changing
it to your way of thinking.
And love the challenge of figuring out why the stitch is off,
or the size is wrong. The Artistic Crocheter loves to change
the yarns, textures, Hooks and Colors just to see what will
happen.Artistic Crocheters seem to be looser Crocheters.
"Loose Hookers" as Some would say!
Like I said, These are my thoughts and definitions,
and some conclusions that I have found to be relatively
true. It does not make one type better or worse,
it is just different ways of thinking.

And Wouldn't the world be a boring place,
if we all thought the same?

My Cookie Recipe is
"Pumpkin Peanut Butter Gluten Free Cookies
for people and pooches"

This recipe is a healthy cookie that Is safe for you and your dogs.

Makes about 2 dozen Cookies         Oven - 350 degrees, bake for 10-12 minutes

Ingredients:

Wet Ingredients                                                     Dry Ingredients
1/2 can of pumpkin                                               2 tsp baking powder
1/2 C of Coconut oil                                            1 C Coconut Sugar
1 Egg                                                                   2 tsp baking soda
 1 tsp Vanilla                                                        1/4 t. Salt
1 C Natural peanut butter - crunchy                   1 C Gluten Free Flour ( Pillsbury)
These are the brands I used.

1. In a large bowl mix together the Wet Ingredients -
egg, oil, pumpkin, peanut butter and vanilla, by hand, till smooth.
Add the sugar, continue mixing gently.

2. In a separate bowl, gently mix the dry ingredients -
baking powder, baking Soda, salt.

3. Add the Dry ingredients to the Wet ingredients and slowly mixing till smooth.
We Divided the mix in half and only put the chocolate chips in the mix for people.
Dog should never have chocolate.
Cover and Place in the refrigerator for  about an hour.

3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

4. Flour the counter with the Gluten free flour and roll our your dough.
Use Cookies cutters to make cookies.
Or drop cookies by spoon onto the cookie sheets.

Place cookies on a lightly greased cookie sheet.

5. Bake cookies for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool completely before eating.

We tested the recipe till we got it right, and the end results got a thumbs up from my very picky Grand daughter.
Maximo and Rosie Approve, too!

It measure about 9 X 6 inches.

The Pattern is very versatile and includes all 4 ear styles.

Live Video Chat - Granny Square or Afghan Square? Posh Pooch Designs

In Today's Live Video Chat we are
Discussing the Question,
"Is it a Granny Square or an Afghan Square?"

I Have loved Granny Squares since I first learned to make one.....
Many, many years ago!
The Difference between a Granny Square and an
Afghan Square is really quite simple.
A Granny Square is the traditional or classic Granny Square.
The Afghan Square is any Crochet Square that can be
 make into a Blanket.

See the Live Video Chat at this LINK

"So All Granny Squares are Afghan Squares,
But not all Afghan Squares are Granny Squares.
Like All Mustangs are cars, But not all Cars are Mustangs."

What is the Proper Way to Hold a Crochet Hook? Live Video | Posh Pooch Designs

A Question I received a couple of weeks ago was,
"What is the proper way to hold a Crochet Hook"?

To be honest, there is NO proper way to hold a Crochet hook.
You can hold it the way it is most comfortable for you.
There are, however, 2 ways that most people
 do hold their crochet hooks.
The Pencil and Knife Hold or Grip.

See The Live Video on my Youtube Channel at this LINK

See a Quick Video demo on my Youtube channel at this LINK

The Pencil Grip or Hold the hook is on top of your hand and actually hold the crochet hook like you would a pencil.

The Knife Hold or Grip - the hook is under your hand, and held that way you might hold a knife if you were slicing a loaf of bread.

There are many variations to both of these techniques.
Both ways are correct.. you hold the hook
which ever way is the most comfortable for you.
There is not a right or wrong way to hold a crochet hook.

Super Nova Super Scarf Crochet Pattern | Posh Pooch Designs

Super Nova Super Scarf
Crochet Pattern By Sara Sach At

This Crochet Pattern
Has been retested and Updated with new Pictures and a Brand New Video
at This LINK

This Huge, Soft and Luscious Scarf is made with
It is a beautiful yarn with a gold thread running through it.
This yarn has deep jewel tones of purples, blues,
greens and golds.
It is a thick boucle, so I made the pattern simple to crochet.
But the end result is definitely not simple.
Although this yarn is a bulky 6, it is not heavy,
and yet still very warm.

It will help you with working with this type of yarn
and how to attach the fringe.

What a comfy and elegant scarf,
perfect for any time of the day.
It also, makes a great wrap to throw on,
when there is a chill in the air.
