Scoodie - Hooded Scarf With Pockets Free Crochet Pattern | Posh Pooch Designs

Scoodie – Hooded Scarf With Pockets Crochet Pattern By Sara Sach

Skill: Easy

Materials:
Hook : I
Yarn : Any Worsted Weight Yarn(4) – 9  - 12 oz.
 I used Red heart Stripes - 3 balls
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Single Crochet (sc)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Double Crochet (dc0
Slip Stitch (sl st)

Sizes:
Youth - 18 -19 inches (Fitted Hood)
Adult - 20 - 22 inches (Slouchy Hood)

Pattern: The texture stitch makes it a cozy warm scoodie

Notes: Ch1 does not count as  st

R : 1 - Starting with the hood, Ch 27(37) 1 hdc in the 2nd ch
 from the hook, 1 hdc in the next 23(33) chs, 2 hdc in the 25th ch,
 turning working down the opposite side of the ch
2 hdc in the 1st ch, 25(35) hdc, ch 1 turn. (54, 74 hdc)

R : 2 - 1dc in the 1st st, 1sc in the next st,
 * 1dc in the next st, 1 sc in the next st, * repeat from * 
up and down both sides of the hood, ch 1, turn (54, 74 sts)

R : 3 - Follow the pattern ( 1 dc in each sc, and
 1 sc in each dc) on both sides of the hood, ch1 turn (54, 74 sts)

R : 4 -25 (Youth) 
R : 4 - R: 35 (Adult)
to make it larger or smaller, make more or less rows)
 Repeat R : 3 ( 54, 74 sts) 

R : 26(36) - 1 sc in each st, tie off (54, 74sts)


Making and Attaching the Scarf:
R : 27 - Ch 60(70) attach ch to the right side of the bottom of the hood,
 1 sc in each row across bottom of hood, then ch 60, turn

R : 28 - 1 dc in the 1st st, 1 sc in the next st,
 *1 dc in the next st, 1 sc in the next st, Repeat from * across the
 length of the scarf, ch 1, turn


R : 29-45 (47) - Repeat Pattern from R : 3

Forming the Pockets:
Fold up the end of the scarf 6 (8)inches, sl st up each side securely,
 tie off and weave in ends. Repeat on the other end of the scarf,
 for two pockets. 
Add buttons on the pockets if desired.
add flowers, bows, or maybe pom poms!
 Or whatever you want.
