I designed This Crochet Pattern February of 2018.
I wanted to retest and update the crochet pattern 
for a while, and when The Premier Fable Yarn was
 released, My first thought was, "This yarn is perfect
 for updating the The Spunky Chunky Baskets".

Machine wash cold, tumble dry low
Crochet gauge: 8 sc x 9 rows = 4",

Knit gauge: 9 sts x 14 rows = 4",

Materials:
Crochet Hook – N / 9.00MM
Yarn: Bulky (6) Premier Fable Yarn/ Dragon
                     Med Size - 7 oz./ 131 yards
                     Small 5 oz. / 100yds.
Yarn Needle - Large Eyed
 
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Double Crochet (dc)
Back Loop Only (BLO)
Skip (sk)
Front Post Double Crochet (fpdc)
 
Size: 2 sizes
         Small - 8 inches across, 8 Inches tall
         Medium - 10 inches across, 10 Inches tall
1 row = 1 inch
 

Notes:
Ch3 counts as a Double Crochet
Rounds are joined with a Slip Stitch

Pattern:
 
R: 1 – Ch 5, Join in a circle, 10 dc in the Circle
 join with a slst to the 1st dc, Ch 3. (10dc)


R: 2 - 1 dc in same st as ch3, 2 dc in each dc around,
 join, ch3 (20 dc)


R: 3 - 1 dc in same st as ch3,
2 dc in each dc around, join, ch3 (40 dc)



 
For Small Skip to R: 5
 
R: 4 - 1 dc in same st as ch3, 1 dc in the next 3 dc,
*2 dc in the next 2 sts, 1 dc in the next 3 dc*,
Repeat from *to* around, join, ch3 (50 dc)


R: 5 - Working in the BLO, (this row only)
1 dc in each dc, join, ch3 (S- 40, M- 50 dc)


R: 6 – 1dc in the 1st 3 dc, FPDC in the next dc,
*1 dc in the next 4 dc, FPDC in the next dc*
Repeat From * to * around , join, ch 3
 (S- 30, 10 FPDC, M- 40 dc, 10 FPDC dc)


Small - R: 7 – R: 8  Repeat R: 6
Medium- R: 7 – R: 9  Repeat R: 6


To make the basket taller repeat R: 6 
For as many rows as needed.

Small –R: 9 - R: 10 - 1 sc in each st around,
Join tot the 1st sc, ch 1 (40 sc)
Medium –R: 10 – R: 12 – 1 sc in each st around,
 Join tot the 1st sc, ch 1 (50 sc)


Handles:
Small – sc in the 1st 7 sc, ch 10, sk 6 sc,
Sc in the next 14 sc, ch10, sk 6, 1 sc in the last 7 sc,
 Join, to the 1st sc, ch 1 (28 sc, 2 ch10)
 
Medium - sc in the 1st 9 sc, ch 12, sk 7 sc,
Sc in the next 18 sc, ch12, sk 7, 1 sc in the last 9 sc,
 Join, to the 1st sc, ch 1 (36 sc, 2 ch10)



Small / Medium – 1 sc in each sc, and ch around, (10/12)
Join to the 1st sc, ch1


Trim – Small / Medium – slst in the 1st sc, ch1,
*slst in the next sc, ch1*
Repeat From * to *, join to the 1st slst,
 tie off, weave in the ends.

Today we are stitching up a super easy 
Crochet Granny Bag, 
and adding a Liner to the bag, 
with a pocket and bag strap.


This Bag is 14 X 14 inches with strong sturdy strap.
It will hold just anything.
Perfect for shopping at the market, using as a tote,
travel bag and even a purse.
It's got a pocket for your phone, keys or chap stick.


This Crochet Pattern for the bag is easy 
and works great on it's own.
Adding the liner, with a pocket and lining the bag
 strap makes super sturdy as well as super cute!

The Yarn Is Red Heart Super Saver Stripes
 in the primary colorway.
The fabric is duck cloth I ordered from Hobby Lobby
 that is a granny square print. 
So Cute and perfect for this bag.

Crochet Hook – H / 5mm.
Yarn- med (4) Acrylic yarn – Redheart Super Saver Stripes,
                        Primary stripes (4.oz.)
Yarn Needle
 
For Liner:
2 pieces - 15 x 17  inch Squares of Fabric of Choice
1 piece – 4 by 22 inches For bag strap  
1 piece - 6 X 9 inches - For pocket  
Needle and matching thread
  Or Sewing Machine and thread
Straight pins
Scissors
 
Crochet Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single Crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)

Size:
14 X 14 inch bag, not counting the bag strap
2 X 20 inches – Bag Strap

Slst in the next 2 dc, slst in the ch1 sp, ch 3
(4 corners, ch1, and 4 sets of 3dc, ch1 3 times)
 
R: 6 – R: 12 – Repeat R: 5, increasing every row



 
Repeat R: 1 – R: 12, do not tie off after the 2nd square
You need 2 squares, a front and a back
 

Place the 2 squares together, right side out.
Sc down the side of the bag, 3 sc in the corner,
Sc across the bottom, 3 sc in the corner,
Sc up the side of the bag,
 


Working around The top of the Bag,
sc around the top of the bag,
Join to the 1st sc, 

1 sc in each ac around, join to the 1st sc,
tie off, weave in the ends.
 
Bag Strap –
R: 1 - Ch 7, sc in the 2nd ch from the hook,
Sc in each ch, turn, ch 1 (6 sc)
R: 2 – 1 sc in each sc across, turn, ch 1 (6sc)
 
R: 3 – R: 75 – Repeat R: 2
Strap is about 20 inches long



If a longer handle is wanted, st as many rows as needed.

Do not add the strap to the bag yet,
unless you are not adding the liner.

How To Make The Easy Bag Liner

Materials:
Cut 2 pieces of Fabric 15 X 17 inches – Bag liner
Cut 1 piece of Fabric 6 X 9 inches – Bag pocket
Cut 1 piece of fabric 4 X 22 inches – Bag Strap
Needle And Thread to match
Scissors 
straight pins
Iron and Ironing board
Sewing Machine Optional

Pocket –



I suggest ironing the pocket folds
Fold the top of the pocket down 1 inch,
fold under 1/2 inch And hem the top of the pocket.
 
Fold The Remaining 3 the same, do not sew them,
set them aside.


Bag Strap –
Fold and iron all 4 side in ¼ of a inch.
Fold in ½ and again iron.
Pin To the Crochet Strap and sew in place.
Set a Side.
 


Bag Liner-



Place and Sew the pocket 3 inches from the bottom of one of the squares,
centering it on the wrong side of the fabric.




Lay the 2 15 X 17 inch squares together, wrong side out.
Sew the 3 sides together
Square off the Corners, and trim them

Fold The top down 1 inch, then one inch again
Sew the top edge.

Slide Liner inside of bag, and sew the edge to the bag.


Place and sew on the bag handles to the sides of the bag, 
with the Fabric side down.

You can add buttons, flowers, bows, ribbons, appliques
 or any type of decoration your like.

The Cloudy Day Pocket Scarf is a great Father's Day gift, 
but The ladies will also love Scarf. It's a wonderful scarf
 for both the guys and the girls.
 The scarf is a a simple pattern and it fun stitch up.
the Pattern is what I call, 
"Sort of The Basket Weave Stitch".
It's similar but not exactly.
It has a wonderful texture, and those big roomy
pockets will make this scarf your favorite.

I Know Summer is upon on us, but I always get
 asked for new scarfs for Father's day. And you can 
start your Christmas presents early, because 
everyone will want one.
Don't Forget to make one for Your self.

Puzzle Cotton Yarn
Med (4) Weight
57% Acrylic 43 % Cotton
