Is the Scrap Happy Rug Crochet Pattern

I had something else in mind, than realized

 I needed a rug for in front of my 

Washer and Dryer. The Tile Floor is slick and chilly.

I remembered I had a Rug I was was working on 

for the kitchen floor, and decided to finish it  

and share it with you all.

It's a very easy pattern and very easy to adjust

 to any size needed.

This Rug is colorful and fun, and can be used inside or

 outside. For the kitchen, the bath, bedroom or porch,

 patio and deck. Just toss in the washer and 

dryer when you need to freshen it up.

Get in Your yarn stash and put together colors of Your

 choosing. It is stitched up with 2 strands of med (4)

acrylic yarn, so it stitches up really quick.

Scrap Happy Rug Crochet Pattern

Please Add This Crochet Pattern To Your Raverly Favorites

Skill: Beginner / Easy

Materials:

Crochet Hook – J / 6.00MM

Yarn - Acrylic/ med (4) 14 -  15 oz. of assorted color scarp yarns

           I used scraps from my Yarn Stash

Yarn Needle

 

Stitches:

Chain (ch)

Single Crochet (sc)

Skip (sk)

Space (sp)

 Size: 15 X 36 inches

3 chs = 1 inch

When adjusting Your rug, 

       make sure you start with an even number of chains

 2 rows = 1 inch

Notes:

Ch1 Does Not Count As a st

Rug is stitched holding 2 strands of yarn together

 

 

Pattern:

 

R: 1 – holding 2 strands of yarn together, ch 42, turn, ch 1

1 sc in the 2^nd ch, and in each ch across, turn, ch 1 (41 sc)

R: 2 – Sc in the 1^st sc,

*ch1, sk the next sc, sc in the next sc*

Repeat From * to * across row, turn, ch 1 (41 sts)

R: 3 – 1 sc in each sc and ch1 sp across row, turn, ch 1 (41 sc)

R: 4 - Sc in the 1^st sc,

*ch1, sk the next sc, sc in the next sc*

Repeat From * to * across row, turn, ch 1 (41 sts)

R: 5 – Repeat R: 3

 

R: 6 – Repeat R: 4

 

R: 7 - R: 69 – Continue to Repeat R: 3 And R: 4, alternating rows

 

R: 70 – Evenly Sc around all 4 sides of the Rug, place a sc, ch1,

sc in each of the 4 corners,

Join to the 1 st sc, tie off and weave in your ends.

How To Keep Your Rug From slipping around:

You can Purchase a sponge rug grip mat, or

 The Rug Gripper Tape, both work fine.

What I do is, on the back side or bottom of the rug,

Place a line of Hot Glue all around the 4 sides, and let it dry.

It works great.

It will wear some after a few washings, but you can

 add more in the places it wear.

 to make. It can be made from either cotton, acrylic or 

any left over yarns.

It can be used for cups, mugs, glasses and cans, 

or whatever you are drinking from.

It is perfect for all the Patriotic Holidays.

Flag Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, and

Veteran's Day,

And any time you want to Celebrate America.

Make them with or without the fringe.

Have a party, or get together, stitch up a bunch of 

American Flag Mug Rugs with your left over yarn,

and give one to each of your guests to take 

home with them.

The pattern is basically rows of Single Crochet stitches,

 so you could actually make them any colors you choose

 for any occasion.

R: 1 – With Red yarn, ch 14, sc in the 2^nd ch from the hook,
1 sc in each ch across, turn, ch 1 (13 sc)

R: 2 – 1 sc in each sc across, turn (13 sc)

R: 3 – Chgto White yarn, ch 1,
1 sc in each sc across, turn, ch 1 (13 sc)
 

R: 4 – 1 sc in each sc across, turn (13 sc)
 

R: 5 – Chgto to red yarn, ch 1,
1 sc in each sc across, turn, ch 1 (13 sc)
 
R: 6 – 1 sc in each sc across, turn (13 sc)

R: 7 – R: 8 – Repeat R: 3 - R: 4
 
R: 9 – R: 10 - Repeat R: 5 – R: 6
 
R: 11 – R: 12 – Repeat R: 3 – R: 4
 

R: 13 – Chgto to Blue Yarn, cut off Red and Blue yarn,
Ch1, 1 sc in each sc across, turn, ch 1 (13 sc)
 
R: 14 – 1 sc in each sc across, turn, ch 1 (13 sc)
 

R: 15 – R: 20 – Repeat R: 14
 

R: 21 – Chgto Gold yarn, ch1, sc across,
3 sc in the corner,
Turn working down the side of the mug rub, evenly sc down the side,
3 sc in the next corner, Evenly sc across the bottom, 3 sc in this corner,
Evenly sc up the last side. 3 sc, join to the 1^st sc,

 tie off. Weave in all your ends.
 

With White yarn and needle, sew on a star.

Fringe:
Cut 30 pieces of gold yarn, 6 inches long
And attach them to the 2 short ends of the mug rug.

Dog Bone Rug and Pattern

Designing a dog bone rug is not as easy as it looks, 
And there is math involved. 

Okay I will be honest and say, "I am math challenged".

 I can't even balance the check book! 
 Don't get me wrong, I am very smart, I just can't add!   

But you just don't realize the amount of math skills it takes 
to design a crochet pattern !  

It even involves fractions!!!!!!!!!   

The completed the Dog Bone Rug!  YAY! 

 I really do think it turned out so cool!  

I love how all the colors of the yarns look. 

It sort of reminds me of the braided rugs my grandma

 used to have in her house. 

As you can see the rug measures about 29 to 30 inches. 

 But it can be made bigger, 

but that would include a lot more math.(yikes!)

Now to write down the pattern...

I mean I have all the math calcualtions,

 the increases and decreases, stitches and chains, 

but they are all in head!
