♥♥♥ Conversation Hearts Dog Collar Crochet Pattern ♥♥♥
I wish I could take credit for this heart pattern, but it is not mine. I don't really know whose it is. As I was cleaning out some 20 + year old Crochet magazines and books, Some from my Mother-in- law and some from many different Garage sales, a piece off paper fell out. ( I Love old vintage crochet patterns) On it was a hand written crochet pattern. No pictures, all it said was "Lil' Heart Pattern". It was written in pencil, so the pic I tried to take of it, did not come out well. But it looked so easy, I just had to try it...And I loved it so much I wanted to share it!
Lil' Heart Pattern:
Skill : Sooooo very Easy
Materials:
Hook: H
Yarn needle
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (sl st)
Double Crochet (dc)
Treble Crochet (tr)
Pattern:
Ch 3, work in the first ch from the END, 3 tr, 3 dc, chain 1, 1 tr, ch 1, 3 dc, 3 tr, ch 2, sl st, leave a 8 in tail of yarn, and pull to the back.
| Yes, this is orange yarn, It was a practice run with left over yarn. |
Thread the tail of yarn on to the yarn needle, then on the back side of the heart draw the yarn through all the loops in the circle, and secure the yarn.
.
To make hearts into the Dog Collar :
Measure your dogs neck. Each heart measures approximately 2 inches. make as many hearts as you need to equal your dog's neck measurement.
Maximo's neck is 10 inches so I need 5 hearts.
Slip stitch the hearts together with matching yarn. ch 25 or more, depending on how long you want your ties to be, then attach to end of heart and slip stitch back up the ch. I usually tie a know in the end to help it keep from unraveling.
If you think the hearts are too big you can always go down a hook size or two.

I tied the bow to the back, but you can even put beads on the tie and tie it to the front, as well as put gems on the hearts!
