Can I Substitute Cotton For Acrylic Yarn?

1. It depends on the Yarn Weight -
Stay with the same Yarn Weight
If it's a Med (4) you will want to stick with a med (4)

2. It depends on the project
Acrylic yarn does not not hold it's shape when it gets
wet, like Cotton does. Also, cotton holds up better when Washed often.

3. Cotton is cooler then Acrylic -

Cotton is better for some Summer items, like hats and headbands.
It is Cooler and absorbs the sweat.

4. Sometimes it's Just preference -
Take Washcloth For example:

Some people prefer cotton because they are soft and
are absorbent, but can also stink and get moldy.

While Acrylic can be a little more scratchy, which
exfoliates the skin, and cleans dishes better,
But wears out faster.

So The Bottom Line Is,

"Do What Works Best For You!

Prism Shawlette Crochet Pattern | Posh Pooch Designs

 Prism Shawlette Crochet Pattern
By Sara Sach of  Posh Pooch Designs

The Prism Shawlette is a shawl that is a little shorter
than the average shawl, and intended to only lay
 across your shoulders.
The Pattern will also work to make a larger shawl is
 you would prefer.
The Shawlette is the perfect size to wear with a sundress,
Sun top and anytime you want to cover your shoulders.

I named this pattern The Prism Shawl because I think
it is perfect for yarn cakes like the Mandala.
Where the colors changes are long and and blend nicely.

Handle This Jar Cozies Crochet Pattern | Posh Pooch Designs

Handle This Jar Cozies
 Crochet Pattern
By Sara Sach of  Posh Pooch Designs

The Handle is perfect for Hot or Cold drinks,
and it keeps me, I mean you,
from dropping it.

It is great For Cold drinks that sweat,
because the cotton absorbs the moisture.

I specifically designed The
 "Handle This Jar Cozie"
using cotton yarns, because it does absorb
the moisture, but also, it holds it's shape well.

It also fits a 12 oz. Can of Soda!

I have been designing Lots of Jar Cozies.
You can find the  Free Crochet Patterns
 at this  - LINK

It's a lot of fun.
 Recently I was
asked if I had
 a design with a handle
Like a Coffee Mug.

I thought it was
 a great idea
and I really like how
 the design
turned out.
