Country Cotton Men's Scarf Free Crochet Pattern | Posh Pooch Designs

The Country Cotton Men's Scarf 
was designed for the guys. 

 I love how it turned out and think
 it would be great for the girls too!

It is designed with soft cotton
Country Blue and Cream
I Love This Cotton From Hobby Lobby.
But any cotton will work.

Skill: Easy

Materials:
Hook – I
Yarn – Cotton (4) 3 oz Country Blue C1, 2 oz Cream C2
I used Country Blue and Cream By I Love This Cotton, Hobby Lobby
Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Stitches:
Foundation Double Crochet (FDC)
Chain (ch)
Double Crochet (dc)
Front Post Double Crochet (FPDC)
Back Post Double Crochet (BPDC)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Single Crochet (sc)
Skip (sk)

Size – 5 X 62 inches

Note: ch1 at ends of rows does not count s a st, it is a turning ch.

R : 1 – With C1 - 186 FDC, ch 1, turn ( 186 dc)

***Optional Start***
 Ch 187 with C1, turn, 1 dc in the 2nd ch from the hook
and in each ch, ch1, turn. (186 dc) 

The amount of sts remains
 the same throughout the project.

R : 2 – Change to C2, 1hdc in each dc, ch1 turn ( 186 hdc)

R : 3 – 1 dc in the 1st 5 hdc, *ch1, sk 1 st, 1 dc in the next 3 hdc*
Repeat From * to across, 1 dc in the last 4 hdc, ch1, turn

R : 4 – 1 dc in the 1st 2hdc, 1FPDC in the next dc,
 1 dc in the next dc,
*ch1, sk 1 st, 1 dc in the ext dc, 1 FPDC in the next dc*
*Repeat From * to * across row,
1 dc in the last 4 hdc, ch1 turn

R : 5 – 1 dc in the 1st 2hdc, 1BPDC in the next dc,
 1 dc in the next dc,
*ch1, sk 1 st, 1 dc in the ext dc, 1 BPDC in the next dc*
*Repeat From * to * across row,
1 dc in the last 4 hdc, ch1 turn

R : 6 – Repeat R : 4

R : 7 – Repeat R : 5

R : 8 – Change to C2, 1 dc in the 1st 5 dc, *ch1, sk 1 st,
 1 dc in the next 3 dc*
Repeat From * to across, 1 dc in the last 4 hdc, ch1, turn

R : 9 – 1 hdc in each dc and ch across, ch1 turn

R : 10 – Change to C1, 1 dc in each hdc across,
 tie off and weave in your ends.

Trim:
Attach C1, to the right edge of the Scarf end.
Dc Evenly up the side of the scarf, stitching 1 dc in the end of each row.
Dc across the next end, then up the other side of the scarf,
sl st across the last edge and join with a sl st to the 1st dc.
Tie off and weave in your ends.

The neat thing about designing
 a scarf from cotton
is that it is perfect for early mornings
 and late evening when it 
is a just a little chilly.
It is perfect accent to any casual outfit
Toss it in your gym bag
 for your early morning workout.
It is cotton, so use it to dab your perspiration!
And it is completely washable, too.
