Apple Coaster Crochet Pattern | Posh Pooch Designs

School is starting and Falling is coming soon!
 That means APPLES!
Apples for the Teacher and Apples to eat!
Apple Pie, Apple Sauce, 
Apple Butter and Apple Cider!
YUM!
These Apple Coasters can be stitched up in 
Cotton yarn also, if you prefer.
They make a perfect applique for a book bag,
 back pack or sweater.

Apple Coaster Crochet Pattern By Sara Sach

Skill: Easy

Materials:
Crochet Hook - H/ 5MM
Yarn – Worsted Weight (4) Red, Brown, Green (small amount of each)
Yarn Needle

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single Crochet (sc)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Double Crochet (dc)

Size: 4 ½ X 4 inches

Notes:
Rounds are joined with a slst
Ch3 counts as a Double Crochet

Pattern:
R: 1 – Ch 4, 9 dc in the 4th ch from the hook, join, ch 3 (10dc)

R: 2 – 1 dc in the same stitch as the ch3, 2 dc in each sc around, join, ch 3 (20dc)

R: 3 - 1 dc in the same stitch as the ch3, 2 dc in each sc around, join, ch 3 (40dc)

R: 4 – 1 sc in the next 2 sts, 2hdc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st,
 2 hdc in the next st,
1 sc in the next 10 sc, 2dc in the next st, 1 sc in the next 3, 
2dc in the next st, 1 sc in the next 3 sts.
2 dc in the next st, 1 sc in the 10 sts, 2 hdc in the next st, 
2 dc in the next st, 2 hdc in the next st,
1 sc in the last 2 sts, join to 1st sc, tie off weave in your ends.
(2sc, 2hdc, 2dc, 2dc, 10sc, 2dc,  3sc,  2dc,
3sc, 2dc, 10sc, 2hdc, 2dc, 2hdc, 2sc  = 40 sts)

Stem: Attach brown yarn to the center sc on the top of the apple, 
ch 5, slst in the 2nd ch from the hook, and in the next 3 chs,
 join to the 1st ch, tie off weave in your end. (4sc)


Leaf: With Green yarn, ch 8, Sc in the 2nd ch from the hook,
 hdc in the next ch, dc in the next 2 chs, hdc in the next ch, 
sc in the next ch, slst in the last ch, tie off weave in your ends,
 sew to the top of the apple.
(sc, hdc, 2dc, hdc, sc, slst)

or an end of year gift to say you appreciate
