Lace Ruffle Dog Collar

Have you have been wanting to try
 the new lace yarns,
but it seemed a little complicated?
This is a great way to start.
I developed this technique for dog items
but would work other items as well.

Lace Ruffle Scarf Dog collar crochet Pattern

Skill: Intermediate

Supplies :
Hook -H
Yarn needle
Yarn - About 36 inches of the lace yarn -
if your dog's neck is bigger you will need more.
(About 3 inches of yarn per inch of neck. )
Worsted Weight yarn that matches
Button of choice

Stitches :
Chain ( ch)
Single Crochet (sc)
Yarn over (yo)

R : 1 - Ch 33 with the WW, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook,
1 sc in next 31 chs, ch 1 turn

R : 2 - Push hook through the 1 st sc, loop on 2 loops of the lace yarn,

WW Yarn over, pull through the 2 lace lops and the sc

yo, pull through both ww loops.
Basically, you are stitching scs and adding 2 loops from the lace yarn in each sc.
If you want a more ruffled collar, ad more loops of the lace yarn.

Repeat this across row, ch1 with the ww, turn.

R : 2 - Making sure you have the lace yarn on the front,
so both rows of ruffles are facing the same way,
on this row you will need to draw on the loops of lace yarn,
before you push your hook before you stitch the sc

draw on 2 loops of lace yarn, push hook through sc, yo,
pull through sc and 2 loops, yo, pull through both ww loops, repeat across row.
tie off lace yarn at the end of row.ch 1 with ww, turn.

R : 3 - 1 sc in each sc, working down side of collar, 1 sc, ch 5,
(for button hole)3 more sc, turn working across the bottom of the collar,
1 sc in each st, then working up the other side of the collar, 4 evenly spaced sc,
turn, *1 sc in each of the 4 sc, repeat from * 4 times for a button tab, tie off.

Sew on Button of choice.
Have fun with this, and if it is hard at first.
 Keep trying.
 It is well worth it.
