Chunky Button Cowl Crochet Pattern | Posh Pooch Designs

Chunky Button Cowl Crochet Pattern
By Sara Sach of  Posh Pooch Designs
This is Chunky, Warm, and Classy Cowl.
And Very Easy To stitch up.

I designed This Crochet Pattern Back in October, 2013.
The Fleece Cowl was designed using Fleece Yarn.
Pattern LINK

 I loved it.
When I saw the red and white Peppermint looking yarn,
I instantly thought of this pattern.
It's the same Pattern as The Fleece pattern and
any Bulky(6) yarn can be used For this pattern.

The yarn is very silky and soft with  smooth sheen to it.
Although it is soft, it has some weight to be warm as well.

And Because the yarn is basically 2 strands of yarn wound together, you could use 2 strands of med(4) yarn held
 together for the same effect.

Skill: Easy

Materials:
Crochet Hook - N /9.00 MM
Yarn - Bulky (6) 12 oz. I used Yarn Bee Color Guard from Hobby Lobby
Yarn Needle
3 or 4 large Decorative Buttons (2 inch)

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Single crochet (sc)
Back Loop Only (BLO)

Size: 11 X 90 inches
2 ch = 1 inch
1 row = 1 inch

Notes: Ch1 is a turning ch and does not count as a st.

R: 1 - Ch 23, turn, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook,
and in each ch across, ch1, turn  (22 sc)

R: 2 - BLO, 1 sc in each sc, ch1 turn. (22 sc)

R: 3 - BLO, 1 sc in each sc, ch1 turn. (22 sc)

R: 4 - R: 90 - Repeat Row 3, continuing to st in the back loops.
Tie off after Row 90, weave in ends.

Continue To repeat for any additional Rows,
But remember, this is a very stretchy pattern when sizing.
I recommend you try it on to see how it will fit, before you place your buttons.

Lay The Cowl Out Flat.
Fold the right side in to Form a V.
Fold Fold The left Side in and line them up.
Place Buttons and sew in place,
working through both thicknesses of the cowl.

There are not any buttons holes, the buttons are merely decorative and
sewing them in place help the scarf keep its shape.
tack down the other side of the cowl if desired.

Although I have placed This Pattern at an Easy level, I think it is a beginner pattern, for those who want to learn and practice the Back Loop Only technique.
