Big Easy Knot Bag Crochet Pattern | Posh Pooch Designs

I am So excited about this New Crochet Pattern Release.
I Love How The Big Easy Knot Bag Turned out and I
 absolutely love the yarn that I designed it with.
And This Bag has lot's of fun Uses. A Shopping bag, 
a Market Bag, a Beach bag, a Travel bag, a Purse
 and of course a project bag.



The Yarn is called "BE SO EASY" By Kristin Omdahl.
 It is 100% Milk Cotton Yarn. 
What is "Milk Cotton Yarn"?

The Yarn is very soft and sturdy, which
 makes it perfect for my new bag design. It also 
comes in quite a few colorways.

The Yarn is a Bulky (5) and I designed the bag using
 a K/ 6.5 MM Crochet Hook. I used 6 different colors 
for the striping effect, but You do not have to stripe it as I did.



Colors I Used:
Goldenrod, Cornflower, Sage Green
Pink Lemonade, Lavender, Ecru

Of course, you can use any Bulky (5) yarn you like,
and What ever colors you prefer.
 Although, I highly recommend the yarn I used. It is
 one of the softest cotton yarns I have ever used, 
It glides nicely on my crochet hook, 
And makes a strong and lovely bag.

Materials:
Crochet Hook – K / 6.5 MM
Yarn - Bulky (5) 9.5 oz. / 385 yds. Your Choice of Yarn Fiber
           I Used Be So Easy/ Milk Cotton by Kristin Omdahl
                                   Colors - Goldenrod, Cornflower,
                                   Sage Green, Pink Lemonade, lavender, ecru
Yarn Needle
 
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single Crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Front Post Double Crochet (FPDC)
Back Loop Only (BLO)
Skip (sk)

 Size: 22 H. X 28 around
2 Sts = 1 inch
2 Rows = 1 Inch
 
Notes:
I striped my bag, but you can stitch yours up solid, striped
          or whatever colors you choose.
The color Changes are not listed in the pattern
When Changing Colors, ch3, after the color change
Ch3 counts as a dc
Rounds are joined to the ch3 with a slst
 
Pattern:
R: 1 – Ch 5, join in a circle, ch 3, 11 dc in the circle, join, ch 3 (12 dc)



 
R: 2 – 1 dc in the same st as the ch3, 2 dc in each dc around, join, ch 3 (24 dc)



 
R: 3 - 1 dc in the same st as the ch3, 2 dc in each dc around, join, ch 3 (48 dc)



 
R: 4 – 1 dc in the next 2 dc, *2 dc in the next dc, 1 dc in the next 3 dc*
Repeat From * to * around, join, ch 3 (60 dc)



 
R: 5 -1 dc in the next 3 dc, *2 dc in the next dc, 1 dc in the next 4 dc*
Repeat From * to * around, join, ch 3 (72)



 
R: 6 – Working In the BLO, 1 dc in each dc around, join, ch 3 (72 dc)
 


R: 7 – 1 dc in the next 3 dc, * 1 fpdc in the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 4 dc*
Repeat From * to * around, join, ch 3 (24 FPDC, 48 dc = 72 sts)
 


R: 8 – R: 24 – Repeat R: 7, Ch1 after R: 24
If a longer Bag is desired Repeat R: 7 till desired length.
 


R: 25 – 1 sc in each st around, join, ch 1 (72 sc)
 


R: 26 – 1 sc in the next 12 dc, ch 12, sk 12 dc,
1 sc in the next 24 dc, ch 48, sk 12 dc, 1 sc in the last 12 dc, join, ch 1
 (12sc, ch12, 24 sc, ch 48, 12 sc)


R: 27 – 1 sc in each sc, join, ch 1 
 


R: 28 - Repeat R: 27
If a thick handle is desired Repeat R : 27 a couple more times.
Tie off and weave in your ends.

Big Granny Square Bag Crochet Pattern

Skill: Easy

Materials:
Crochet Hook - H/ 5.00MM
Yarn - Worsted Weight (4) 3.5 oz.
Yarn Needle
12 Six Inch Squares - Make your own style or 
                                    use the ones from the Crochet A Long
   12 Six inch Granny Square Crochet A Long - LINK

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Single Crochet (sc)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)

Size: 14 X 18 inches

Notes: Ch1 does not count as a stitch.

Single Crochet The Squares Together:
Place 2 squares together with right side out.
Join yarn to the corner and sc together the 1st 2 squares.
tie off and weave in the ends.

Now add the 3 rd square to the 2nd square in the same way.


Continue until you have 6 squares together. Set them aside

Repeat the same way with the next 6 squares.

Next, sc the 2 sets of six squares together lengthwise, 
with the right sides facing out.

Sc the side together to form a tube. Do Not Tie off.

Bottom of the Bag:
*sc evenly around the bag, join to the 1st sc, ch1*
Repeat From * to * 3 more times, for a total of 4 rows.

Turn the bag wrong side out and sc across the bottom of the bag,
 sewing it closed, tie off weave in your ends.

Top of the Bag:
Attach yarn to the bag at the top side,
*sc evenly around the bag, join to the 1st sc, ch1*
Repeat From * to * 3 more times, for a total of 4 rows.
Tie off weave in your ends.


Bag Handles: Make 2
With 2 strands of yarn held together, and  tail of yarn 12 inches long,
Ch 20, 1 hdc in the 2nd ch from the hook, turn, ch1, (19 hdc)
1 hdc in each hdc across, tie off leaving a long tail of 12 inches.

Line up the 1st side of handle and slst on at the 1st row of sc, using the 1st tail of yarn.
Line up the 2nd side of the handle and slst on the 1st row of sc using the 2nd tail of yarn.
Weave in your ends.


You can use your bag as is, or you can Line your bag.

I Love Anchors, and all things Nautical.
This makes a great coaster.
But also can be a patch or pocket, 
or used on just about any project like a
 hat, scarf, bag, or dog sweater.

Materials:
Crochet Hook – I/9  5.5MM
Yarn – Cotton Yarn, Peaches and Cream 
              Red-C1,  Yellow - C2
Yarn Needle

Size  5 X 6 inches
      
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Single Crochet (sc)

 The Anchor Graph Pattern – Use C1 and C2
Ch1 at ends of rows is not a st, it is a turning ch.

The Graph Pattern is worked from the bottom row to the top row.
Ch 16, turn. 1 sc in the 2nd ch and in each ch across, ch 1 turn

Work all Rows in sc sts, Changing colors where indicated by the graph.


When changing colors, always pull up your yarn in the last loop of the previous st.


When you have worked all the rows and are at the top corner,


With C1, ch16, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 
and in each ch across, ch1, turn
R : 1 – C1 6sc, C4 2sc, C1 6sc, ch1, turn
 R : 2 – C1 4sc, C4 6 sc, C1 4sc, ch1, turn
 R : 3 - C1 3sc, C4 1sc, C1 2sc, C4 2sc, C1 2sc, C4 1sc, C1 3sc,
 ch1, turn
 R : 4 – C1 2sc, C4 1sc, C1 3sc, C4 2sc, C1 3sc, C4 1sc, C1 2sc,
 ch1 turn
 R : 5 – Repeat R : 4
 R : 6 – Repeat R : 4
 R : 7- C1 6sc, C4 2sc, C1 6 sc, ch1, turn
 R : 8 – R : 10 – Repeat R : 7
 R : 11 – C1 4sc, C4 6sc, C1 4sc, ch1, turn
 R : 12 –C1 2sc, C4 2sc, C1 2sc, C4 2sc, C1 2 sc, Ch1 turn
 R : 13 – C1 2sc, C4 1sc, C1 2sc, C4 1sc, C1 2sc, C4 1sc, C1 2sc,
 C4 1sc, C1 2sc, ch1 turn
 R : 14 – C1 5sc, C4 1sc, C1 2sc, C4 1sc, C1 5sc, ch1, turn

Evenly sc down each side, st 3sc in each corner, join to the 1st sc, tie off.
 weaving in your ends.
