The Cavalier Beanie Hat

 Crochet Pattern

The Cavalier Beanie  was designed as 
a match to the Cavalier Scarf -

The Cavalier Beanie was designed using similar yarn
80% wool, 20 % Acrylic- Bernat Pop
or many of the different cake yarns.

You may also use any Worsted Weight (4) yarns
you have on hand.

The Cavalier Beanie Hat Crochet Pattern

Skill: Easy

Materials:
Crochet Hook – I / 5.25 or 5.50
Yarn – WW (4) 7 oz. I used Hobium / Jersey yarn
                         (80% wool, 20 % Acrylic- Similar To Caron Cakes)
Yarn Needle

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single Crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Front Post Double crochet (FPDC)
Back Loop Only (BLO)
Double Crochet Decease - St2dc together

Size: Youth to Adult - 20 inches
2 Rows = 1 inch – hat band

Notes:
Ch1 Does not Count as a st
Ch 3 Counts as a dc
Rounds are joined with a slst to the ch3

R: 1 – The Hat Band
Ch 9, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc in each ch across, turn, ch1 (8sc)

R: 2 – Working in the Blo, 1 sc in each sc, turn, ch1 (8sc)

R: 3 – R: 59 – Repeat R: 2

R: 60 - Join the 2 ends of the hat band together with a row of sc.
Do not tie off

R: 61 – Ch3, Stitch 1 dc in the side of each row around,
 making sure to have 60 dc around,
join to the ch3, and ch3 (60dc)


R: 62 – Ch 3 counts as 1st dc, 1 dc in the next 3 dc, FPDC in the next dc,
*1 dc in the next 4 dc, FPDC in the next dc,*
Repeat From * to * around, join, ch 3 (60sts)

R: 63 – Repeat R: 62


R: 64 – Ch 3 counts as 1st dc, 1 dc in the next 2 dc, FPDC in the next dc,
*1 dc in the next 4, FPDC in the next dc, *
Repeat From * to * around, join, 1 dc in the last dc, ch 3 (60sts)

R: 65 – Repeat R: 64

R: 66 - Ch 3 counts as 1st dc, 1 dc in the next dc,
*FPDC in the next dc, 1 dc in the next 4 dc*
Repeat From * to * around, join, 1 dc in the last 2 dc, ch 3 (60sts)

R: 67 – Repeat R: 66

R: 68 -Ch 3 counts as 1st dc,  FPDC in the next dc, 
*1 dc in the next 4 dc, FPDC in the next dc*
Repeat From * to * around, join, 1 dc in the last 3 dc, ch 3 (60sts)

R: 69 – Repeat R: 68

R: 70 – Ch 3 counts as 1st dc, 1 dc in the next dc, 
*st the next 2 dc together (dc decrease), 1 dc in the next 2 dc*
Repeat From * to * around, join, ch 3 (45dc)

R: 71 – Repeat R : 70 (34dc)

R: 72 - ch 3 counts as 1st dc, st the next 2 dc together ( dc decrease)
*1 dc in the 1st dc, st the next 2 dc together (dc decrease)*
Repeat From * to * around, join, Tie off leaving a 18 inch tail of yarn.
(17dc) 
With the needle and the tail of yarn, gather closed the top of the hat,

weave in the ends.

Mountain Top Beanie Crochet Pattern

My New Design, The Mountain Top Beanie is great
 for the Gals and Guys. The pattern is written in 3 sizes,
Child, Youth and Adult. And it is easy to Adjust to any size,
So Everyone can make one,
or you can make one for everyone.
The way I designed the pattern it make a very stretchy 
and comfy hat. And The Red Heart With Love Yarn 
is a very soft yarn, that works up perfectly for this beanie.

Skill: Intermediate --but not hard - Really you can do this!

Materials:
 Crochet Hook – H / 5.00 MM
Yarn - Worsted Weight (4) 4.5 oz. I used Red Heart With Love – Bluebell/ Gray
Yarn Needle

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitches (slst)
Single crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Back Loop Only (BLO)
Stitch Together (stog)

Sizes: 3 sizes
Small – Child – 18 inches
Med – Youth – 20 inches
Large - Adult – 22 inches
3 Rows of hat band = 1 inch

Notes:
Pattern is Written for S (M, L) in parenthesis
Ch 1 Does not Count as a st.
Ch 3 counts as a dc
Dc Rows are join with a slst to the ch3
Sc Rows are joined with a slst ti the 1st sc

R: 1 – Hat Band – ch 6, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook,
1 sc in each ch across, turn, ch1. (5sc)

R: 2 – BLO, 1 sc in each sc, turn ch 1 (5sc)

Small – R: 3 – R: 53 – Repeat R: 2
Medium – R: 3 – R: 59 - Repeat R: 3
Large – R: 3 – R: 65 - Repeat R: 3

R: 54 (60, 66) - Place the ends of the hatband together, sc together.

R: 55 (61, 67) – Place one sc in the end of each row around the top of the hat band.
Join to the 1st sc, ch1 (54, 60, 66 sc)

R: 56 (62, 68) – Working in the 3rd loop of the sc sts,
1 sc in each sc around, join, ch 1 (54, 60, 66 sc)


R: 57 (63, 69) - Working in the 3rd loop of the sc sts,
1 sc in each sc around, join, ch 3 (54, 60, 66 sc)

R: 58 (64, 70) - Working in the 3rd loop of the sc sts,
1 dc in each sc around, join, ch3 (54, 60, 66 dc)

R: 59 (65, 71) – 1 dc in each dc around, join, ch 1

R: 60 (66, 72) - Working in the 3rd loop of the dc sts,
1 sc in the end of each dc,

R: 69 (75, 81) - Working in the 3rd loop of the sc sts,
1 sc in each sc around, join, ch 3 (54, 60, 66 sc)

R: 70 (76, 82) - Working in the 3rd loop of the sc sts,
1 dc in each sc around, join, ch3 (54, 60, 66 dc)

R: 71 (77, 83) – 1 dc in each dc around, join, ch 3
(54, 60, 66 dc)

R: 72 (78, 84) - *1 dc in the 1st 2 dc, stog the next 2 dc (1 dc decrease)*
Repeat From * to * around, join, ch 3

R: 73 (79, 85) - *1 dc in the 1st 2 dc, stog the next 2 dc*
Repeat From * to * around, join, ch 3

R: 74 (80, 86) - *1 dc in the next dc, stog the next 2 dc*
Repeat From * to * around, join, ch 3

R: 75 (81, 87) - * dc in the next dc, stog the next 2 dc*
Repeat From * to * around, join, ch 3
Tie off leaving a 12- 18 inch tail of yarn.

Use the tail of yarn to gather the opening in the top of the hat closed.
