Magnet / Applique Each month
for Our 2025 Crochet a long.


The 2025 Year Long Crochet 
We are making a Home Wall Hanging and we are
 also making an applique for each month to add to it.
The Applique is also a magnet that you can put on
 your refrigerator.  That way if you really do not want
 to make the Wal hanging, You can still participate
 by making the monthly applique / Magnets.

The Heart Coffee Cup Applique And Magnet
 Crochet Pattern for February is a classy little elegant
 coffee cup with a cluster heart in the middle with
whip cream on top. Looks good enough to drink, 
but don't you will get yarn in your mouth!

Heart Coffee Cup Applique And Magnet
 Crochet Pattern

Skill: Easy
 
Materials:
Crochet hook – H / 5 mm.
Yarn- Med (4) Acrylic - Small amount of 2 colors of your choice
                 (C1 - Cup, C2 - heart and trim)
Yarn needle
Magnet / Safety pen
Optional – Adhesive Felt/ sticky felt
Glue – your choice
 
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single Crochet (sc)
Skip (sp)
Back Loop Only (BLO)
Single Crochet Together (sctog)
 
2 Double Crochet Cluster (2dccl)
Yo, insert hook in the next st, yo, pull the yarn through the st, yo,
Pull the yarn through the 2 loops on the hook
Repeat 1 more times – You will have 2“uncompleted dc”
YO, pull yarn through all 3 loops on the hook
 
Size: 3 X 4 Inches
 
Notes:
Ch1 Does not count as st
 
Pattern:
 
R: 1 – With C1, Ch 8, sc in the 2nd ch from the hook,
1 sc each ch across, turn, ch 1 (7 sc)


R: 2 – 2 sc in the 1st sc, 1 sc in the next 5 sc, 2 sc in the last 2 sc,
Turn, ch 1 (9 sc)
 
R: 3 - 2 sc in the 1st sc, 1 sc in the next 7 sc, 2 sc in the last 2 sc,
Turn, ch 1 (11 sc)

 
R: 4 – 1 sc in each sc across, turn, ch 1 (11sc)


R: 5 – 1 sc in the 1st 4 sc,
Chgto C2, leave C1 attached, sk the next sc,
2dccl, ch 1, 2 dccl in the next sc,
Chgto to C1, Cut C2,
Sk the next sc, 1 sc in the last 4 sc, turn, ch 1
(8 sc, 1 set of 2ddcl, ch1, 2 dccl)


R: 6 – 1 sc in the 1st 4 sc, ch1, sc in the ch1 sp,
Ch1, 1 sc in the last 4 sc, turn, ch 1 (9 sc, 2 ch1)


R: 7 –sctog 1 1st 2 sc, 1 sc in the next 2 sc,
 ch1 sp, sc in the sc, sc in the ch1 sp,
1 sc in the next 2sc, sctog the last 2 sc, turn (9 sc)


R: 8 - Turn Working down the side of the cup,
Evenly sc to the bottom row,
Ch4, sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in the next 2 sc,
Sc across the bottom to the end of the rows.
Ch4, sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in the next 2 sc,
Evenly sc up the side of the cup to the top edge, ch1
 

Turn, back down the this side, slst in the 1st sc
Ch7, sk 3 sc, join to the next sc,
8 sc in the ch2 sp, join to the 1st slst,
 

1 sc in each sc across the top of the cup.
 
R: 9 – Join C2, to the 1st slst, BLO slst across the top of the cup,
Turn, slst in the 1st slst (9 slst)

 
R: 10 – *Ch2, sk the next slst, slst in the next slst*,
Repeat From * to * 4 more times, tie off weave in the ends


Optional: Cut a ½ Circle of the Adhesive Felt and
 place on the back of the magnet.


For Wall Hanging –
Use a safety pin to attach the cup to your Wall hanging.
 
For The Magnet -
Attach the magnet to the back with your choice of glue.
I prefer to use hot glue.

Coffee Cup Magnet And Applique Crochet Pattern


 Skill: Easy
 
Materials:
Crochet hook – H / 5 mm.
Yarn – Med (4) Acrylic – yellow - .5 oz
                             Small Amount of Brown, purple, green
A Magnet – small .5 – 1 inch or Brooch Pin
Yarn needle
Glue of Choice
Sticky back, adhesive back Felt sheet
 
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single Crochet (sc)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Skip (sk)
Space (sp)
Change to (chgto)
Lazy Daisy embroidery stitch For Flower
 
Size: 3 X 3.5 Inches
 
Notes:
Ch1 Does not Count as a stitch
 
Pattern:
 
R: 1 – With yellow yarn, ch 5, sc in the 2nd ch from the hook,
sc in each ch across, turn, ch 1 (4 sc)
 
R: 2 – 2 sc in the 1st dc, 1 sc in the next 2 sc,
2 sc in the last sc, turn, ch 1 (6 sc)


R: 3 - 2 sc in the 1st dc, 1 sc in the next 4 sc,
2 sc in the last sc, turn, ch 1 (8 sc)
 
R: 4 – 1 sc in each sc across, turn, ch 3 (8 sc)


R: 5 – R: 7 - Repeat R: 4


R: 8 – 1 sc in the 1st sc,
Chgto Brown yarn, leave yellow yarn attached,
Sc in the next 6 sc,
Chgto yellow yarn, sc in the last sc, turn, ch1
Tie off Brown yarn.


R: 9 – With yellow yarn, sc in the 1st 2 sc, hdc in the next 4 sc,
Sc in the next sc, ch1,


Turning working down and around the bottom of the cup,
Evenly sc up to the top of the cup, join to the 1st sc with a slst,


Pull the ends of the brown yarn to the back of the cup and weave in them in.

 
 Turn back down the side of the cup, slst in the 1st 2 sc,
Ch 7, sk 4 sc, join to the next sc with a slst, ch1,
Turn, 8 sc around the ch7, join to the slst with a slst, tie off,
 Weave in the ends.



With purple Yarn and Needle Stitch 4 Lazy Daisy sts to form the flower.
With Green yarn and needle, stitch 2 Lazy Daisy Stitches to for the 2 leaves.
 

If you prefer, use a button or other embellishment in place
 of the embroidered flower.
 
Cut and attach the Felt to the back of the cup.


For Wall Hanging –
Use a brooch pen or safety pin to attach the cup to your Wall hanging.
 
For The Magnet -
Attach the magnet to the back with your choice of glue.
I prefer to use hot glue.

Coffee Cup Christmas Ornament And Stuffie | Posh Pooch Designs

 Coffee Cup Christmas Ornament
And Stuffie

With This Fun Crochet Pattern You Can stitch up a 
Coffee Cup Christmas Tree Ornament that measures
 3.5 inches tall,


And
A Coffee Cup Christmas Stuffie That is 5 Inches tall.
I love them Both so much and You will also.


The ornament is made with Medium (4) yarn and A
 H/5.00 MM Crochet hook.
The Stuffie is made using 2 strands of Medium (4) Yarn
 held together and A  K/6.50 MM Crochet hook.
You can stitch them bot up with any yarn fiber you like.


You chose the colors of the Coffee Cup, and embellish
 it with a face, decorative buttons, and ribbons.
It is a coffee cup, but also a cocoa and tea cup.
It's completely customizable!

Coffee Cup Christmas Ornament And Stuffie

Skill: Easy

 

Materials:

For Ornament - 

Hook: H/ 5.00 MM

Yarn - Acrylic med. (4) or Cotton yarn -  (1oz. total)

            I used Peaches and Cream Cotton yarn (1oz. total)

           Small Amount of Black Yarn for smile

Small amount of fiber fill - about a handful

Yarn Needle

Stitch marker

Safety eyes, Decorative Buttons


For Stuffie - 

Hook: K/ 6.50 MM

Yarn - Acrylic Med. (4) or Cotton yarn - 2 oz. total

           I used red and green Red Heart Super saver

           Small Amount of Black Yarn for smile

           Small Amount of white for eyes

Small amount of fiber fill - Large handful

Yarn Needle

Stitch marker

2 button - .5 inch

Decorative Buttons

 

Stitches:

Chain (ch)

Single (sc)

Double Crochet (dc)

Slip Stitch (sl st)

Back Loop Only (blo)

 

Size:  3.5  inches tall - ornament

5 inches tall Stuffie

 

Notes: 

Ch 3 Counts as dc

Rounds are joined with a slst

Color choices and striping is up to you and what you prefer

“Body” of cup is stitched in the round, not joining

 

 

The Pattern: Starting with the bottom of the cup.

The Ornament And The Stuffie are stitched exactly the same, 

the difference is the hook size and yarn. 

 

R: 1 - For Ornament 1 strand of yarn, 5.0 MM crochet hook

For Stuffie - 2 strands of yarn held together, 6.50 MM Crochet Hook


Ch 5, Join in a circle, ch3

11 dc in the circle, join with a slst, ch 3 (12dc)

 


R: 2 - 1 dc in the same st as the ch3, 2 dc in each dc, around join, ch1 (24dc)


 

 

R: 3 - BLO (this row only)

1 sc in each dc around, do not join, (24sc)


 

 

R: 4 - We will be stitching “in the round for the "body of The Coffee Cup,

be sure to mark your rows with a Stitch marker.

1 sc in each sc around, join, ch 1 (24sc)

 

R: 5 - Repeat R: 4

I changed colors every other row.

if striping yarn, leave yarn attached and carry yarn up the inside of the cup.


R: 6 - R: 10 - Repeat R: 4

After R: 10, slst in the next sc,


 

 

R: 11 - Forming the cup handle,

Ch 8, join ch to the loop that lines up even on R: 4,

9 sc around the ch, and join to the top, do not tie off, leave yarn attached.

If you striped your cup and carried your yarn, tie off one of the colors.

 

The Coffee:

Repeat R: 1 and R: 2 From the Coffee Cup.

Tie off weave in the ends.




If adding safety eyes put them on at this point. 

Place the Coffee on top. And with the attached  yarn, sc around the top of the cup, 

sewing the coffee and cup together. leave a space for stuffing. Stuff the Coffee cup, 

sc closed the top of the cup, tie off and weave in the ends. 

 




Add  Decorative buttons  and ribbons

 

To Make A Ornament Hanger: Cut a 12 inch piece of yarn or ribbon and lace through top the handle.




Stuffie Eyes: Make 2

With White yarn - Ch3, 7 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, join to 1st sc,

tie off leaving a 10 inch tail of yarn for sewing on cup face.


Sew button on each eye, place eye on the front to of the cup and sew in place.


Smile: With Black yarn and needle, sew a "V" for the smile as shown in the picture. 


I added a fun button and Christmas ribbon to my Stuffie.



Embellish your Coffee Cups as you like.
