Oma's Curlers Hat Crochet Pattern

Super Silly, Super Fun and Super Easy Crochet Pattern!

OH NO! Oma Has Curlers In Your Hair!

Don't Worry, I am just on my way 
to Wal-Mart!  Ha ha!

This Crochet Pattern is a basic chunky double crochet 
pattern with a Slip stitch trim. Then add as many curlers
 as you want.

Skill: Easy

Materials:

Crochet Hook – K / 6.50 MM

Yarn- Red Heart Super Saver (4) (3.5 oz) Grey Heather

Yarn Needle

15 - 20 Foam Culers

Stitches:

Chain (ch)

Slip Stitch (slst)

Single Crochet (sc)

Double Crochet (dc)

Size: Approximate Size

 Adult – 20 - 22 inches

Notes:

Hat is Stitched using 2 Strands of yarn held together

Ch 3 at beginning of rounds counts as 1 Double Crochet.

Rounds are joined with a slip Stitch.

R: 1 –With C1, ch 4, 9 dc in the 4^th ch from the hook,

Join in a circle, ch 3. (10dc)

R: 2 – Ch3 counts as 1^st dc, 1 dc in the same st as the ch3,

2 dc in each st around, join, ch 3 (20dc)

R: 3 - Ch3 counts as 1^st dc, 1 dc in the same st as the ch3,

*1 dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st* Repeat From * to * around,

 Join, ch 3 (30dc)

R: 4 - Ch3 counts as 1^st dc, 1 dc in the same st as the ch3,

*1 dc in the next 2 sts, 2 dc in the next st*

Repeat From * to * around, Join, ch 3 (40dc)

R: 5 - Ch3 counts as 1^st dc, 1 dc in the same st as the ch3,

*1 dc in the next 3 sts, 2 dc in the next st*

Repeat From * to * around, Join, ch 3 (50dc)

R: 6 – 1 dc in each dc around, join, ch 3 (50dc)

R : 7 – R: 10 - Repeat R: 6, Only ch1 after R: 10

R: 11 - 1 sc in each dc, join ch1 (50sc)

R: 12 – 1 slst in each sc around, join and tie off.(50 slst)

Adding the Curlers – Wrap Yarn Snuggly around a curler. The amount 

you wrap the yarn, is up to you just make sure there is no part of the curler

showing through. Cut the yarn leaving about an 18 inch tail of yarn.

Thread yarn onto the needle and secure the yarn. Making sure it does not

come unwound from the curler.

Sew the curler in place on the hat securely.

I places a Row of curlers down the idle from front to back,
 Then places a few on each side.
