The Breakfast Toast Coaster is a 

fun play on words.

Let's "Toast" in The New Year!

I think it would be a fun coaster for a New Years

 Party, and great party favor for your guests

 to take with them. 

It's Also a pretty handy coaster to have around.

And if your kids like play food, 

it great to play as well.

It's a quick and fun coaster to stitch up, 

and adding the cute smile makes it so happy.

Just grab some cotton, or even acrylic, 

and let make some toast!

Materials:
Crochet Hook – H / 5 mm.
Yarn- Med (4) 100 % Cotton – C1 - Peaches and crème - light brown 1 oz.
                                                       C2 – Brown - .5 oz
                                                       C3 – yellow - .5 oz.
Yarn Needle
 
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single Crochet (sc)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Half Double Crochet 2 together (hdc2tog)
 
Size: 5 X 6 Inches
 
Notes:
Ch1 Does Not Count as a st
 
Pattern:
 
R: 1 – With C1, ch 16, hdc in the 2^nd ch from the hook,
Hdc in each ch across, turn, ch 1 (15 hdc)

R: 2 – 1 hdc in each hdc across, turn, ch 1 (15 hdc)

R: 3 – R: 7 – Repeat R: 2

R: 8 – 2 hdc in the 1^st hdc, 1 dc in the next 13 hdc, 2 hdc in the last hdc,
Turn, ch 1 (17 hdc)

R: 9 - 2 hdc in the 1^st hdc, 1 dc in the next 15 hdc, 2 hdc in the last hdc,
Turn, ch 1 (19 hdc)
 
RL 10 - 2 hdc in the 1^st hdc, 1 dc in the next 17 hdc, 2 hdc in the last hdc,
Turn, ch 1 (21 hdc)
 

R: 11 –Hdc2tog the 1^st 2 hdc, 1 hdc in the next 17, hdc2tog the last 2 hdc, turn

 
R: 12 – Chgto C2, tie off C1, turn, ch 1.
Sc evenly around the coaster, sc, ch1, sc in the 2 bottom corners.

Butter:

R: 1- With C3, Ch6, sc in the 2^nd ch and in each across, turn, ch 1 (5sc)
 
R: 2 - R: 3 - 1 sc in each sc, turn, ch 1 (5 dc)
 
R: 4 – 1 sc in each sc, turn, evenly sc around the other 3 sides of butter square,
Sc, ch1, sc in the corners, Join to the 1st sc, tie off leaving a 12 inch tail of yarn.

 Add the face as shown in the picture.

Place and sew on the butter with the tie of yarn.
