Have you ordered the

 jimmy beans wool Beanie Bags?

I have and I Love it.

 It is so fun to go to the mail box and 

find that package from jimmy beans wool.

It is a fun way to get to try some of the Wool 

and there is also other goodies included.

Each bag comes in a cute little 

Canvas Zipper pouch.

And tucked inside is 4 or 5 balls of wool.

A packet of cleanser soak.

A pattern, knit, crochet or both.

and a few other goodies.

This beanie bag had 5 balls of wool, 

and  fun pompom makers.

This pouch had 4 different textures 

and shades of gray

 and a yarn needle included. 

 This bag had  purple shades and 

this beautiful Shawl stick.

I made this Granny Square Beanie from the 

December and November Beanie Bags.

I just randomly added each ball of wool,

 when one ran out,

Added a little flower with a button.

This is the crochet pattern I used:

Autumn and Spring Hat

I haven't decided what I want to make 

with January's Beanie bag wool.

These 2 Patterns are included in 
January's Beanie Bag.
 I want to make one,
 but can not decide whether to
 do the knitting pattern 
or the crochet pattern.
I Love them both!

Learning How to Dye Wool With Koolaide

about Dying yarn with Koolaide

I thought it would be fun to Try.

So here is what I did.

The first thing I did was buy some wool, and soak it in cold water.

And then I bought some Koolaide and vinegar.

This is a very inexpensive project.

The yarn was about $8.00

I bought it from Hobby Lobby

(using my 40% off coupon)

The Koolaide was 19cents each

and the Vinegar was about $1.50

Following the directions from the blog I spoke of ,

 I made some purple, red, orange and green batches

 and began the dying process.

(My kitchen smells all fruity)

After rinsing well, I hung it outside,

in the aspen tree in my back yard to dry.

I was disappointed in the colors at first,

But once they dried....I loved them.

I am calling them...

Shades of Sherbert!

I'll let you know what I decide to make with them.

We just got back from our Alaskan Cruise

and I took 1000's of pictures.

One of the Highlights was

 Shopping at Skagway.

I found this amazing little

Quilt and Yarn Shop.

This shop is only open during the summer, but they do have a webpage.

 I found a plethora of Alaskan hand made hand dyed Yarn!

The Colors where magnificent and the textures were awesome.

They had many different blends-

merino, silk, alpaca, musk ox

wool, nylon, cashmere....

I decided on these two

The top one is alpaca, merino and silk.

The bottom one is 100%Merino Wool

I will definitely be making Me items from these.

But if you are ever in Skagway stop by and see them.

They are the nicest people.
