When I started designing this collar,
I wanted to make something light and ruffly,
and a little bit whimsical,
so I chose light Crochet Thread instead of yarn,
and added some sparkly beads for charm.
Rosie loves it.

R : 1- With Yellow thread, Ch 43 (this pattern is for a 12 inch dog neck,
you will need to add or subtract chs, about 5 chs per inch,
for your dog's neck length) 1 hdc in the 2nd ch from the enc,
1 hdc across ch, ch1, turn
R : 2 - 1 hdc in each hdc, ch1, turn
R : 3 - Change to pink thread with a sl st, ch 3 (2 dc, 1 ch) in each hdc across,
ch 3 at the end, join to the last hdc.
R : 4 - Change to the Blue thread, 3 sc across the end of the collar, ch 3,
and working down the other side of the collar, 1 dc in the base of the collar,
(2dc, ch1) in each st across, ch 3, join to the last dc, then 3 sc across this
end of the collar, ch3 and attach to the other corner on this end with a sc,
turn and st 4 sc through the space to form a button hole, join and tie off.
If you do not want to do a button hole you can always just stitch the ends
together for a slip on collar.
Beading the Collar:
I chose to sew the beads on because I wanted to use small beads.
Thread your sewing needle with the yellow thread,
and slide on one bead and sew it on the center line of the collar,
Then do the next bead, keeping the thread attached to the collar, the same way.
continue with the beads until the center line is a full of beads as you want it.
You will want to make sure you place one bead on the end to line up
with the button hole and use it as a button, to close the collar.
Rosie Modeling the Ruffles and Beads Summer collar.
When she tried a new item on,
she gets all excited and jumps around the room,
then starts striking poses.
Of course, she knows she will be rewarded with a cookie
for modeling, and she loves her cookies!
Happy Stitching!
