 And I love to see the dogs, and cats too, wearing them.

I love getting pics and seeing that they love them.

This Sweater is a summer Style, 

with a fun little trim on the hem and neck.

It has a full chest, but no sleeves.

You can choose between, hearts, butterflies or 

cupcakes for your appliques.

And Any color combination you want.

3. Rosie's Dog Sweater With a Flower.

For Small Dogs

This is a basic Dog sweater with a full chest, 

and fun big Flowers  with buttons at the center.

This Sweater can be made any colors of choice.

TIME

A lady I met at the local Park,

 asked me to make a dog Sweater.

A fun gift for her friend's Dog. 

She told me exactly what colors of yarn

 she wanted, as well as, 

the style of dog sweater.

 One with lots of Ruffles 

and a big bow on the back..

This is my Rosie in her Red Ruffle Sweater Dress.

Here in Colorado, Winters are cold, 

And Furbabies do need sweaters

Then she asked, " How much will it cost"?

I Told her the price. 

The Dog Sweater will be $22.99

 for the size you need."

"What, WOW, I can buy the yarn at 

Hobby Hobby for a lot less.!"

 She said, rather loudly.

"Yes, You can, but all you will 

have is some pretty yarn."

I kindly replied.

If you want me to make it into a sweater, 

it will cost you $22.99.

She said, "Ill get back to you."

What it costs ME to make a Dog Sweater:

Yarn - 

for a Small dog Sweater it cost between $7-$10, depending on yarns.

Couple more $$ if I need a hook in the right size.

plus gas to go to the Store

Time-

It takes me 3 hours  to make a small dog Sweater.

More if there are lots of details and/or ruffles.

So, if I am paid  Minimum Wage, it would be $8.00 an hour.

$24.00 in time.

Could Not Sleep--So I got Creative

We are moving in about a week,

From Tulsa, OK to Parker, CO! 

 There are so many things to be done,

and I just couldn't sleep last night,

so I got my yarn stash out and got Creative.

First I designed a Pop Corn Sweater for Rosie Bell

using some rosy colored really soft yarn.

It has a flower on the back and a glitter button for fun.

I Got bored so I went  looking on Ravelry!

I found this adorable Tote Pattern called

Well, I named my tote

I changed the handles and added a flower,

 but it is a great pattern.

Basic Custom Dog Sweater

I have been asked many times, "Do you make a Basic Custom Dog Sweater?"   I always say, "Yes, What do you have in mind?"  Basic means different things to different people.  It might mean plain with our any embellishments, or a solid color.  It could mean no sleeves, where another person might think, "No sleeves..you have to have sleeves"!

Here is what "Basic Custom Dog Sweater" Means to me:

A Sweater for a small Dog, 2-15 lbs, That is created by me,

 Sara Sach of Posh Pooch Designs.

Rosie Modeling the "Snuggle Up Sweater" with matching Hat.

The Hat is the Ripple Bottom beanie...Can be customized to match any sweater.

This sweater has tabs that attach in the back  for easy slip on and off, and is warm like wearing a blanket, yet comfortable enough to play in. It has sleeves and  comfy neck band. The Little flowers are optional. I am working on a Black and Gray variegated one for Maximo.

Buttercup Yarn

Buttercup!

I just finished a custom order for two Dog Sweaters made from the Buttercup baby yarn from Red Heart.

It was quite challenging. The thing that is so wonderful about this yarn, is also the thing that is so terrible!

It is amazingly soft! But because it is so amazingly soft it is very difficult to work with.  I discovered that I can not work with it by itself. As I began to crochet the sweater, the yarn kept breaking and would not keep its shape. It was very pretty, but a very pretty blob of yarn!

So I decided to get some soft but durable baby yarn to use along with it. I used one string of each, the buttercup and the baby yarn and it worked beautifully!!

This is the yellow buttercup and the lemon yellow baby yarn. Worked great. Gave the buttercup yarn stability and the sweater was keeping it's shape.

Finished Yellow Buttercup Dog Sweater. It feels like chenille. I know it doesn't really look like a dog Sweater, but I do not have my dogs model custom sweaters, because I don't want them to have my dogs scent on them. 

This is the Pink Buttercup Dog Sweater. Both Sweaters have pompom on the back, but if it is not wanted, it can be snipped off.

These sweaters are complete with full tummy and sleeves. I really loved making these, as I love custom orders, because it gets my creative juices flowing. But also loved the challenge of working with a different type of yarn and figuring how to make it work.
