The American Flag Jar Cozie is an easy crochet pattern that you can stitch up quickly for your family and friends. Give one to everyone coming to your 4th of July
 get together, or any patriotic party or gathering.
They can keep it as a memory of the fun time they
 had at your party.

Skill: Easy

Materials:
Crochet Hook – H/ 5.00MM
Yarn- Cotton Yarn, But WW(4) will work also, about 2 oz, total
           Red - C1, White -C2, Blue - C3, Gold- C4
Yarn Needle
Jar – 16oz. Canning Jar

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single Crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Back Loop Only (BLO)
Change To (chgto)

Size: fits a 16 oz. Canning jay (about 5 inches tall)

Notes:
Rounds are joined with a Slip Stitch
Ch after the color change
Ch 3 Counts as a Double crochet

Pattern :
 R: 1 – With C1, Ch5, join in a circle. Ch3, 11 dc in the circle, join, Ch 3. (12 dc)

R: 2 –Dc in the same st as the ch3, 2 dc in each dc around, join, Ch1. (24dc)

R: 3 –  1 sc in each dc around, join, ch 3. (24sc)

R: 4 –  BLO, 1 dc in each sc around, join. (24dc)

R: 5 – Chgto C2, ch 3, 1 dc in each dc around, join. (24dc)

R: 6 – Chgto C1, ch 3, 1 dc in each dc around, join. (24dc)

R: 7 – Chgto C2, ch 3, 1 dc in each dc around, join. (24dc)

R: 8 - Chgto C1, ch 3, 1 dc in each dc around, join. (24dc)

R: 9 – Chgto C2, ch 3, 1 dc in each dc around, join. (24dc)

R: 10 - Chgto C3, ch 3, 1 dc in each dc around, join, Ch3. (24dc)

R: 11 - 1 dc in each dc around, join, ch1. (24dc)

R: 12 - 1 sc in each st around, join ch1. (24sc)

R: 13 – Chgto C4, 1 sc in each sc, join,
tie off weave in your ends. (24sc)
Stars: Make 3
Thread 18 inches of C2 onto a needle.
Embroider 3 lines crossed to form the starts.
Tie off to the inside of the cozie.
And Slide it onto the jar.

To make the hole in the lid for the straw, mark the center
 of the lid with a marker.
Then place  a Phillips Screw Driver on the mark, 
and hammer gently till the hole is made.



Rub the 
screw Driver
 around the edges
 of the hole
 to make it large
 enough for
 the straw.
